India in Group B of CAFA Nations Cup 2025

Indian Football Team have been placed in Group B alongside formidable opponents like the co-hosts Tajikistan, Iran, and Afghanistan. Except for Afghanistan, the other two sides are higher ranked in FIFA and better in terms of quality.
The most intimidating challenge for the Indian Football Team will be to play against the defending champions of the CAFA Nations Cup, Iran. Team Melli are preparing for the FIFA World Cup next year, and they have a star-studded side with players like Mehdi Taremi, who plays for the Italian club Inter Milan.
Before facing Iran on September 1, India will have to square off against Tajikistan. The Tajik team will be playing in front of their home crowd, posing a tough challenge for Khalid Jamil’s India. The last group stage match for India will be against Afghanistan on September 4. All these matches will be played at the Hisor Central Stadium in Tajikistan.
