This report has been prepared based till the Indian Super League (ISL) 2023-24 gameweek 21 to keep the players’ performance updated, while keeping an eye on the upcoming World Cup Qualifier 2026 matches against Kuwait and Qatar in June 2024.
The performances of the 26 players till the Gameweek 21 of ISL
Lallianzuala Chhangte – 8.5
Chhangte demonstrated brilliant prowess on the ground in the match against Odisha FC. He scored a goal and provided an assist in the match. He is an asset to the Indian football team. He also took five shots on target, amongst which two were on point.
Subhasish Bose – 8
Subhasish maintained his form throughout the game against Punjab and remained a solid threat for the opposition. He made four interceptions, and three tackles, and blocked one crucial shot in the match.
Amrinder Singh – 7.5
Although Odisha FC lost the crucial match against Mumbai City FC, Amrinder’s performance was much appreciated. He made four saves in the game and punched out one shot. He deserves a start for the Indian football team.
Anwar Ali – 7.5
Anwar has been a force to reckon with since his return after injury. The Mohun Bagan defender again proved his worth against Punjab with his performance. The highlight of his game was a crucial clearance in the second half.
Brandon Fernandes – 7.5
Brandon was exceptional for FC Goa in their last two matches. He proved to be a huge asset for the team with his midfield brilliance and threatening performance in the final third. He also provided two assists in the match against Hyderabad FC.
Suresh Singh Wangjam – 7.5
Suresh was brilliant with his passes and possessed a 90% accuracy during the fixture. With time-to-time crosses and ground duels, he kept the game moving for Bengaluru FC in the match against East Bengal.
Sunil Chhetri – 7.5
The skipper again returned to the scoresheet by converting a penalty against East Bengal.
Vishal Kaith – 7
Vishal had a decent game where his team Mohun Bagan defeated Punjab FC by 1-0. Although there was less threat from the opposition in the match, Vishal did his job well and registered two saves in the game.
Akash Mishra – 7
Akash, with 84% accuracy in passes at the back, played a crucial role in helping his team Mumbai City FC to keep Odisha FC’s attacking game in check. Although he lost possession quite a few times, he was good with both aerial and ground duels.
Rahul Bheke – 7
Bheke looked better with his performance compared to his other teammates in the Mumbai backline. With an 88% passing accuracy, Bheke made one clearance and two successful tackles to keep the opponent at bay.
Amey Ranawade – 7
Although Odisha FC toiled hard to draw the match against Mumbai City, Ranawade looked a bit out of touch for a certain period. He kept the game moving on their end but rarely had anything to do up front to help the team create some chances.
Jay Gupta – 7
Jay played a major role in Goa’s win. He was best at his tackles and also made a crucial clearance in the match against Hyderabad FC. However, his passing was a bit average in both the fixtures.
Naorem Mahesh Singh – 7
Mahesh had a good game against Bengaluru FC. With a decent performance in midfield, he proved to be an asset for East Bengal. Moreover, he made seven successful ground duels, which highlights his defensive inputs.
Lalengmawia Ralte – 7
Apuia toiled hard on the pitch to keep Mumbai in the hunt of a winner in the second half. He even made three important clearances at the backline.
Manvir Singh – 7
Manvir was worth watching while playing against Punjab. He took two shots on target but couldn’t find the net. He also had a decent passing accuracy which kept him active throughout the 90 minutes.
Gurpreet Singh Sandhu – 6.5
Gurpreet’s Bengaluru FC just had one match which was against East Bengal. They lost the match 2-1 and Gurpreet had only one save in the match. He had a low-par game compared to his caliber. The wall of the Indian football team needs to improve his performance.
Mehtab Singh – 6.5
Mehtab not only lost possession frequently but was also weak in his passing against Odisha. He made three clearances before getting substituted.
Nikhil Poojary – 6.5
Nikhil Poojary has looked out of touch for the last couple of games. In his last match, even though he remained on the field for the entirety, he was rarely seen posing any impact on the game. Moreover, he lost possession 17 times.
Imran Khan – 6.5
Even though Jamshedpur comparatively performed well in their match against FC Goa, Imran never looked threatening for his opponents in most parts of the game. With a below-average passing accuracy and 19 lost possessions, he needs to improve his game in the middle.
Vikram Partap Singh – 6.5
Vikram had a below-par game as per his standards. He has been quite brilliant in his last few gameweeks but lacked the intent against Odisha FC. Vikram has not performed up to mark and needs to improve to hold his position in the Indian football team.
Anirudh Thapa – N/A
Deepak Tangri – N/A
Liston Colaco – N/A
Sahal Abdul Samad – N/A
Jeakson Singh Thounaojam – N/A
