Indian Football Team Player Watch: Irfan, Chhangte & Manvir impress; Gurpreet, Suresh need to improve

Few key players need to improve their performances.

Khel Now is back with another analysis of the Indian football team players. This time the names of 25 players who represented the nation in the match against Malaysia in an international friendly have been listed again.

This report has been prepared based on the Indian Super League (ISL) 2024-25 Game Week 12 to keep the players’ performance updated while keeping an eye on the upcoming international assignments.

The performances of the 23 players till the Game week 12 of ISL.

Amrinder Singh – 6.5

Amrinder had a poor outing. He did make three crucial saves but made a silly mistake that led to a goal for the opposition side. He also completed 81% of his passes.

Aakash Sangwan – 6

Aakash Sangwan made three tackles alongside a clearance and tackle each. He also won ⅚ ground duels and 2/4 aerial duels. However, he gave away the ball possession on 24 occasions. 

Anwar Ali – 7

Anwar made three clearances, two interceptions, one block and one tackle each. He executed 79%of his passes, including a key pass and won two duels as well.

Asish Rai – 7

Asish Rai dropped a decent performance. He made one clearance and tackle each while winning two ground duels. Rai completed 22/28 of his passes, including two key passes. Additionally, he also registered a shot on target

Brandon Fernandes – 7

Brandon maintained a passing accuracy of over 80% and also executed two key passes. The midfielder also had a shot on target and won four fouls alongside two tackles and an interception.

Chinglensana Singh Konsham – 6.5

Sana came on late in the second half. He completed 5/7 of his passes and also executed a key pass. He also made a block.

Edmund Lalrindika – NA

Farukh Chaudhary – 6.5

Farukh came on in the second half, but couldn’t make much of an impact. He did not complete a lot of his passes and also missed a big chance.

Gurpreet Singh Sandhu – 6

Gurpreet has not been up to the mark this season. He conceded two goals and made just one save along with two punches and high claims each. Sandhu completed just 57% of his passes and made two clearances in the process.

Jeakson Singh Thounaojam – 5

Jeakson conceded a red card and put his side into trouble. 

Lalengmawia – 6.5

Apuia made a mistake that led to a goal and also lost the ball 12 times. The only highlight of his performance was his excellent passing accuracy of 82% and the three tackles that he made.

Lallianzuala Chhangte – 7

The Mumbai City FC skipper had three shots off target. He also missed a big chance but maintained a passing precision of 94%. Chhangte came back to defend and made two tackles in the process.

Liston Colaco – 6.5

Liston lost possession of the ball 24 times. He missed a big chance and maintained a poor passing accuracy. However, he did win 10/17 ground duels and had a shot on target while making two tackles and interceptions each.

Manvir Singh – 7

Manvir completed more than 85% of his passes and won 3/3 of his aerial duels. Singh made three interceptions, one block and one clearance each. 

Mehtab Singh – 7

Mehtab Singh registered three clearances and one tackle along with a passing accuracy of 89%. Singh completed 12/17 long balls.

Rahul Bheke – 6.5

Rahul Bheke made three clearances, two interceptions and also had a shot off target. He completed 71/81 passes and won three aerial duels.

Roshan Singh Naorem – 7

Roshan recorded an assist for Bengaluru FC. He also made two blocks and tackles each alongside a clearance. Singh executed a key pass and won 4/8 of his ground duels.

Subhasish Bose – 7

Subhasish Bose made interceptions and two clearances while winning most of his ground duels. He completed 63/71 passes with an accuracy of 89% while completing 6/6 long balls. He also had a shot on target. 

Suresh Singh Wangjam – 6.5

Suresh executed 81% of his passes with perfection, including a key pass. He completed five long balls and won three ground duels. Singh also made two tackles and a clearance.

Vishal Kaith – 7

Vishal Kaith had a decent outing this week. made six saves, including three saves from inside the box and even came off his line and cleared the ball once while maintaining a passing precision of nearly 80%.

Thoiba Singh – 6.5

Thoiba made two clearances, one interception and one tackle each. He also completed 88% of his passes, including a key pass and had a shot off target.

Hmingthanmawia Ralte – 7

Valpuia made three tackles, two clearances and an interception for Mumbai City FC. He had 56/64 passes and made bombing runs forward. Moreover, he completed 100% of his dribbles as well. 

Sandesh Jhingan – 7

Sandesh Jhingan made seven clearances while winning the majority of his ground and aerial duels. He also had a shot on target which resulted in a goal for his side.

Jithin MS – NA

Vibin Mohanan – NA

Irfan Yadwad – 8

Irfan Yadwad scored a goal just five minutes into the game and helped his side secure an important win. He won 11 ground duels and made six tackles, four interceptions and two clearances as well.
