Three teams who can win Super Cup 2025

The Super Cup 2025 edition will crown a new champion on May 3.
Indian Super League (ISL) clubs will be competing for silverware in the coming days as the Super Cup 2025 action kicks off on April 20. The 43rd season of the national knockout football competition in India will feature 13 ISL teams and 3 I-League teams going head-to-head to clinch the prestigious trophy.
With former winners including clubs like East Bengal FC, FC Goa, Bengaluru FC, and Odisha FC, the 2025 edition might see the crowning of a new champion. Ahead of the action kicking off on April 20, let us take a closer look at the teams who will be favorites to win the 2025 Super Cup.
3. Bengaluru FC

The Blues under Gerard Zaragoza have shown a genuine quality to never give up in challenging situations this season. After finishing the 2024-25 ISL campaign with a disappointing loss in the Final, the Spaniard will be keen to get his hands on the final silverware on offer this season.
With players like Edgar Mendez, Ryan Williams and Indian icon Sunil Chhetri leading the line, Bengaluru FC will be a genuine contender for the 2025 Super Cup. The Blues will be opening their 2025 Super Cup campaign against Inter Kashi, who will be in high spirits after a successful end to their I-League campaign.

2. NorthEast United FC

The Highlanders will be keen to set the records straight after a disappointing shock exit from the 2024-25 ISL playoffs. A season which began with a sensational Durand Cup Final win via penalties over Mohun Bagan Super Giant, NorthEast United FC were undone by Khalid Jamil and Jamshedpur FC in the quarterfinals.
With players like Alaeddine Ajaraie, Jithin M.S. and promising young stars like Macarton Louis Nickson at their disposal, Juan Pedro Benali will be keen to add another silverware to his collection. Being one of the few teams to have beaten Mohun Bagan Super Giant this year, the Highlanders are definitely one of the biggest favorites to win the 2025 Super Cup. Having recently extended Benali’s contract, the Highlanders are daring to dream big with the Spaniard at the helm.
They will be facing Mohammedan SC in the opening encounter of the 2025 Super Cup as they eye a quarterfinals berth and looking to make it two final appearances this season.
1. Mohun Bagan Super Giant

The Mariners are the clear favorites to clinch an unprecedented domestic treble in Bhubaneswar having won the league Shield and the ISL title this season. After finishing a record-breaking season on top of the ISL standings, Mohun Bagan Super Giant head coach Jose Molina will have the 2025 Super Cup in his sights.
With players like Vishal Kaith, Jason Cummings and Liston Colaco at his disposal, the Spaniard has all his stars available for the competition. With a first-round bye following Churchill Brothers SC’s withdrawal, the Mariners will be well-rested before their quarterfinals clash. Having only lost one major final this season in the Durand Cup, the Mariners appear as the team to beat to lift the Cup.
