These teams enjoyed plenty of success in the calendar year.
As we get ready to ring in the New Year with many more opportunities for Indian football, it is imperative that we reflect on the success achieved by some of the clubs. From the Indian Super League to the I-League, some of the teams have performed immensely well and recorded some amazing matches. Hence, Khel Now takes a look at five teams with the most wins collected in 2021:
5. Hyderabad FC- 8 wins
The Nizams currently sit at second place in the ISL points table, just behind Mumbai City FC. The club has had a memorable year after recording eight wins in the Indian Super League.
2021 began with a 4-1 victory over Chennaiyin FC. Further wins against NorthEast United, Chennaiyin FC and Kerala Blasters, coupled with a series of draws; meant that the side would have be content with a fifth-place finish in the 2020-21 season.

After the commencement of the new season, Hyderabad FC collected four more wins to finish the year at a comfortable position in the league.
4. Churchill Brothers- 10 wins
This year was their 33rd in existence and it was fairly decent to say the least. The two-time I-League champions (2008-09, 2012-13) began their year with a convincing 5-2 win over Indian Arrows in the I-League.
The club’s 10 wins include a 3-2 victory against Gokulam Kerala and a win over Guardian Angel Sports Club in the Goa Professional League. Churchill Brothers finished as runners-up in India’s erstwhile top division, a result well-deserved.
3. ATK Mohun Bagan- 13 wins
The 2020-21 Indian Super League campaign was a brilliant season for the Mariners, as they had reached the finals. The year was kicked-off with triumphing over NorthEast United. The Kolkata side got the better of the same side once again in the semi-finals, which got them a berth in the final against Mumbai City.

After the league campaign, ATKMB plied their trade in the AFC Cup. Wins over Bengaluru FC and Maziya S&RC secured a place in the inter-zonal semi-finals.
In the new ISL season, they started off confidently with back-to-back wins against Kerala Blasters and SC East Bengal, but they trailed off their path soon enough. Their recent 3-2 win against NEUFC under new coach Juan Ferrando might just be the turning point for their season.
2. Gokulam Kerala- 13 wins
The I-League side comes in at second place on this list. The current champions had an unrivalled season this year. They started their league-winning year with a 4-3 win over RoundGlass Punjab.

The Malabarians sealed their championship with a 4-1 victory over TRAU FC in their final game of the season. The 13 wins in 2021 include a 1-0 win over Luca SC in the Kerala Premier League and two wins in the Durand Cup.
1. Mumbai City- 14 wins
Topping the list with most wins are the ISL defending champions, Mumbai City. A 2-0 scoreline against Kerala Blasters registered their first win in 2021. In last year’s final, the Islanders got the better of the Mariners in a 2-1 win, thanks to goals from Jose Arroyo and Bipin Singh.
In the 2021-22 campaign, Mumbai have started with a similar fervour to win their second title in a row. So far, they have won five of their eight fixtures in the new season, which includes a mammoth 5-1 win over ATK Mohun Bagan.
