Mohun Bagan reserve side forward Vian Murgod signs for Australia’s Manningham United Blues

Vian Murgod signs a one-year professional deal in the Australian State League.
Mohun Bagan Super Giant reserve team attacker Vian Murgod has taken a significant step forward in his career by joining Australian State League side Manningham United Blues.
The move sees the promising attacker head overseas in search of regular game time and exposure, as he looks to further develop his game before making a return to Indian football.
A graduate of the Reliance Foundation Young Champs programme, Vian has steadily built a reputation as an exciting attacking talent.
Trials turn into a professional opportunity

Vian has been training with Manningham United Blues for the last one and a half month, during which he featured in two practice matches. His performances during these games impressed the coaching staff, leading the club to offer him a one-year professional contract.
Manningham United Blues compete in the third tier of Australian football, with the league season set to begin on February 14 and run through August. Alongside the league campaign, the club will also participate in multiple cup competitions that take place simultaneously, providing Vian with consistent match exposure
Interestingly, this move has been a year in the making. Vian had appeared for trials at Heidelberg United last year, where scouts from Manningham United Blues first noticed his potential.
That initial impression eventually led to an invitation to trial with Manningham this season, culminating in his professional signing.
Strong foundations at Reliance Foundation Young Champs
Vian’s footballing journey has been shaped by his time at the Reliance Foundation Young Champs residential academy, where he trained from 2019 to 2023.
During this period, he played a key role in helping the academy side finish runners-up in the MFA Super League in the 2022–23 season.
He was also part of the RFYC U-19 team that competed in the Reliance Foundation Development League for two consecutive seasons, contributing to their qualification for the Premier League Next Gen Cup in 2023.
Later that year, Vian graduated from the academy and earned a contract with Mohun Bagan Super Giant, marking his transition into the professional ranks.
