The Indian transfer market experienced a rush once again in the final week of July.

The market is open for transfers and the Indian football clubs are very active, trying to get their targets. A number of deals were completed in the previous week as well. Before the Indian football season begins later this year, football clubs are being proactive in getting their preferred players.

Therefore, here is the roundup of all transfer activity in Indian football this previous week.

Indian Super League

Odisha FC

The Juggernauts were by far the most active club in the ISL this week. They announced the signing of former ATK Mohun Bagan defender Victor Mongil. The defender will bring much-needed experience to the backline and improve the club’s fortunes.

Odisha FC have also brought in Javi Hernandez, who played for the Mariners last season. He also won the ISL with ATK in 2019-20 and will provide stability in the heart of the midfield after Cole Alexander’s departure.

Another Spaniard joining the ranks at the Bhubaneswar-based side will be Hector Rodas. The defender has played 38 matches in the La Liga and will make his debut in Indian football next term. Odisha FC are building a core of Spanish players under their new head-coach, Kiko Ramirez.

Hyderabad FC

The Nizams announced the signing of former Bengaluru FC defender Juanan in the last week of July. Rumours were strong of his arrival after Odei Onaindia departed for Spain, following a one-year stay in India. The 34-year-old might be the most important signing for the club ahead of the next term.

Hyderabad FC also brought in the ex-NorthEast United duo of Nim Dorjee Tamang and Gurmeet Singh. Both youngsters join a side which is becoming a hot-bed for exciting young Indian talents. Goalkeeper Gurmeet and defender Tamang were part of the Highlanders' squad last season, which finished third in the league standings.

Kerala Blasters

The southerners made a surprise announcement by signing Enes Sipovic from Chennaiyin FC. He has ample experience of playing in the ISL, and would like to fix Kerala's defensive woes from the 2020-21 season. He has signed a one-year contract with the Yellow Army.

Mumbai City FC

Last year’s ISL trophy and ISL shield winners, Mumbai City FC have made a strong statement of intent by signing last season's Golden Boot winner Igor Angulo. The Islanders are hoping to defend their title and mount a strong challenge in the AFC Champions League next season. Angulo’s arrival will certainly help in that objective.

ATK Mohun Bagan

ATK Mohun Bagan has extended Roy Krishna’s contract, ending speculation of his departure from the club. The striker has been instrumental in the club’s success and the 33-year-old will lead the Mariner’s attack until 2022.

Bengaluru FC

Bengaluru FC ended months of speculation by finally confirming the signing of Bidyashagar Singh. The 23-year-old joins on a three-year contract. The attacker finished as the top-scorer in the I-League last season and will add more attacking flair to the Blues.

NorthEast United

Khassa Camara is set to sign a one-year extension with NorthEast United. The defensive midfielder was impressive for the Highlanders last season, helping them to their club's best-ever finish at the third place. Retaining Camara for another year is smart business.

The Guwahati-based club also signed Mohammad Irshad and Jestin George. Both defenders have signed three-year deals, keeping them until 2024 at the club.

Jamshedpur FC

ATK Mohun Bagan midfielder Pronay Halder is a man in high demand. The enigmatic midfielder is under the lens of several clubs but Jamshedpur FC are the front-runners in securing his services. A one-year loan deal is expected between the Mariners and the Men of Steel.

SC East Bengal

SC East Bengal’s troubles do not seem to end. They have also lost the services of striker Aaron Amady-Holloway. He joins Burton Albion FC in England after switching clubs.

I-League

I-league clubs have also been active this week, as far as Indian football transfers are concerned.

Mohammedan SC

Mohammedan SC have completed the signing of former Aizawl FC goalkeeper Zothanmawia. The 23-year-old custodian will look to impress for his new club after a string of good performances at the local level.

Mohammedan SC also roped in Milan Singh this previous week. The defensive midfielder has signed a one-year contract and most recently played for SC East Bengal in the ISL. He has 81 overall appearances in the I-League and could reach the 100-games mark with the Black Panthers.

Gokulam Kerala

The Malabarians have roped in Indian women's team international Ritu Rani. The club will feature in the inaugural AFC Women’s Club Championship 2021 and the Indian Women’s League (IWL) next season. Therefore, bringing in Ritu Rani will bolster their squad and their chances of success in both competitions.
