Marking the 10th edition of the continental showpiece, the tournament will feature 12 teams divided into three groups of four, setting the stage for an intense battle among Asia’s brightest young talents.
India is among the eight teams that sealed qualification through the qualifiers, earning their place alongside hosts China PR and the four AFC representatives from the FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup Morocco 2025, who qualified automatically.
The Young Tigresses now await their group stage opponents as they prepare to test themselves against the continent’s elite.
Whom can India face in AFC U17 Women’s Asian Cup 2026?
The AFC U17 Women’s Asian Cup China 2026 will be held from May 1 to May 17, with 12 teams battling for continental honors and a place at the FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup. Placed in Pot 3 for the Final Draw, India is set to face one team each from Pots 1, 2 and 4 as they await their group stage opponents.
From Pot 1, the Young Tigresses could be drawn against hosts China PR, DPR Korea or Japan, with China automatically seeded in position A1. Their Pot 2 opponents could be Korea Republic, Thailand or Australia, while Pot 4 includes Chinese Taipei, Myanmar and Lebanon.
The top two teams from each group, along with the two best third-placed sides, will advance to the quarterfinals. Importantly, the four semi-finalists will qualify for the FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup Morocco 2026, where DPR Korea are the defending champions.
