India’s friendly tour of Türkiye ends on a positive note with a victory against FC Schlieren in a closed-door friendly. The India senior women’s national team continued their preparations in Türkiye with a 2–1 win over Swiss club FC Schlieren in a closed-door friendly on 24 January.
The match formed part of the Blue Tigresses’ ongoing training camp as they build towards the AFC Women’s Asian Cup 2026.
India narrow edge past FC Schlieren

India made a positive start to the contest and were rewarded in the 19th minute when Anju Tamang broke the deadlock, calmly finishing off a move that came after a spell of sustained pressure in the final third. The early goal settled the Blue Tigresses, who went on to play with control and composure for long phases of the match.
Staying compact and well organised, India dictated the tempo and restricted FC Schlieren to very few clear-cut chances. Their patience paid off late in the game when Grace Dangmei doubled the lead in the 81st minute, providing some much-needed breathing space.
Schlieren responded with a goal from the penalty spot four minutes later, but India remained disciplined in the closing stages to comfortably see out the result.
The friendly offered valuable minutes and tactical clarity for the coaching staff, with the team showing encouraging signs as they continue to fine-tune combinations and match fitness ahead of bigger challenges.
