A lot of footballing action awaits India’s women’s teams in 2026-27.

Even though the Indian football scene might be facing uncertainty due to the confusion over the future of the Indian Super League (ISL), at least the Indian women’s football scene appears to be prospering. The Indian Women’s football team has impressed over the last year by securing qualification into the 2026 AFC Women’s Asian Cup against all odds.

Not only that, but the Indian women’s football team across multiple youth levels are also thriving, with the under-20 and under-17 teams producing eye-catching results. On top of this, the Indian Women’s League will continue well into 2026 as the top clubs look to stamp their authority to win a major tournament.

A potentially exciting year of 2026 is in store for Indian women’s football across multiple levels, as we now show the schedule of the female teams – as part of their announced matches – in 2026.

The Indian Women’s League 2025-26 season finally began on 20 December (2025) after a lot of uncertainty over it. Eight teams are taking part in the 2025-26 edition, with the team that finishes in the first position after the end of the league stage being named as the champions and the bottom two teams being relegated to the Indian Women’s League 2.

Here is how the Indian Women’s League schedule looks like for the remainder of 2026 in the business end of the 2025-26 season.

  • January 2 – May 10 (2026)

AFC Women’s Asia Cup

The most prominent tournament in which the India Women’s football team will take part in 2026, will of course, be the AFC Women’s Asian Cup. The Blue Tigresses qualified for the tournament after managing to pip a strong Thailand side in the qualifiers, and they will be playing in an AFC Asian Cup edition for the first time since 2003!

India has actually been placed in a challenging group in the AFC Women’s Asian Cup in 2026, against major teams like Japan, Vietnam and Chinese Taipei! Here is what the Blue Tigresses schedule looks like for the major tournament.

  • March 4: Vietnam vs India
  • March 7: India vs Japan
  • March 10: India vs Chinese Taipei

India U-20 Women’s Football Team

India seal India qualify for AFC U20 Women’s Asian Cup 2026 spot for First Time in 20 Years

For the India U-20 Women’s Football Team, 2025 proved to be a highly prolific year. They won eight of their 13 matches, only suffering a single loss in that period. They were able to qualify for the AFC U-20 Asian Cup in style, defeating Turkmenistan and Myanmar comfortably to pave their path in the tournament.

Joakim Alexandersson will now be looking to guide his girls to pop up a real surprise in the AFC U-20 Women’s Asian Cup, which begins in April 2026. India has been placed in a pretty tricky group here as well, against major teams like Japan and Australia, as well as Chinese Taipei.

  • April 2: Japan U-20 vs India U-20
  • April 5: India U-20 vs Australia U-20
  • April 8: Chinese Taipei U-20 vs India U-20

India U-17 Women’s Football Team

Under Joakim Alexandersson’s guidance, the India U-17 Women’s Football team also had a highly prolific year of 2025. They won seven of their eight matches, scoring 34 goals in that period. They had an impressive AFC U-17 Women’s Asian Cup qualifiers campaign, defeating Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan to book a place in the 2026 U-17 AFC Women’s Asian Cup.

As a result, the India U-17 Women’s team is now set to play in the AFC U-17 Women’s Asian Cup for the second time in their history, having last done so in 2005!
