The Blue Tigresses will be looking to redeem themselves against the Central Asian nation.

India senior women’s football team will be playing their second international friendly against Uzbekistan with revenge on their mind on June 3. The first games witnessed the Central Asian nation earn a win courtesy of a second-half strike from Diyorakhon Khabibullaeva in the 50th minute separating the sides.

The home side will be keen to prove themselves against Uzbekistan on June 3, with the last game’s loss fresh on their mind. While it is an international friendly, the two sides will be looking to put on a show for their fans.

The Stakes

India

The Blue Tigresses enter this upcoming game on the back of back-to-back-to-back defeats in international friendlies against Uzbekistan, South Korea, and Russia. The downturn in form also witnessed Crispin Chettri’s women only winning two of their last five games.

While Uzbekistan is sure to present a familiar challenge from the last game, the Blue Tigresses will be looking to break their rut against the visitors. A win will be a huge mental boost ahead of key upcoming games in 2025.

Uzbekistan

The Central Asian nation has bounced back from their rough run of results in recent friendlies, with a win over India on May 29. They have now managed two wins out of their last five games, and extended their fantastic record against India.

While the Blue Tigresses will be gunning to set the record straight, Uzbekistan will be looking to make it two wins in two games against India on Tuesday.

Team and Injury News:

Both India and Uzbekistan are expected to have a fully fit squad at their disposal.

Head-to-Head Record:

Total Matches: 14

India wins: 1

Uzbekistan wins: 10

Players To Watch

Panthoi Chanu (India)

India's Elangbam Panthoi Chanu
Panthoi Chanu kept seven clean sheets in 14 IWL appearances this season.

Chanu will once again be the player to watch in this upcoming fixture as she will be the last line of defence against a potent Uzbekistan attack. The 29-year-old has been a great servant for India and will be once again called upon on Tuesday against Uzbekistan.

She also won the Women’s Goalkeeper of the Year award at the AIFF Awards after a stunning season between the sticks with East Bengal FC who won the league title with an eight-point cushion.

Diyorakhon Khabibullaeva (Uzbekistan)

Khabibullaeva will be the danger man for Indian defenders to deal with in the upcoming international friendly. The Uzbek forward scored the crucial goal in the game between the two sides on May 29 and will be looking to add to her tally on June 3rd.

The Uzbekistan attack will be relying on Khabibullaeva’s brilliance to get two winning results against the Blue Tigresses and Crispin Chettri.
