The Men of Steel came from behind to beat the Lions in a tight contest.

Jamshedpur FC picked up a crucial 2-1 win over Delhi Dynamos at the JRD Tata Sports Complex, Jamshedpur on Wednesday. After a sweet Lallianzuala Chhangte strike gave Delhi the lead, goals from Tim Cahill and Farukh Chowdhary were enough to give the Men of Steel a narrow win, which helps them move into the fourth position in the Indian Super League (ISL) standings.

Watch: Jamshedpur FC 2-1 Delhi Dynamos highlights

Here are our player ratings for the game.

Jamshedpur FC

Subrata Paul- 6.0

Paul could do very little to stop Chhangte’s effort and apart from that, didn’t really have to do much. Showed impressive calm in distributing play. Made an important save off Chhangte and later Andrija Kaludjerovic in the second half to keep his side in the lead.

Robin Gurung- 5.0

Delhi seemingly targeted his side and lodged much of their attackers through that side. He struggled to keep them at bay, allowing way too many attacks and was tricked by Narayan Das for the goal. Was lucky not to concede a penalty, after blatantly handling the ball off Nandhakumar Sekar's attempt inside the box. Gurung got outwitted on too many occasions and had a poor day.

Pratik Chowdhary- 6.5

Pratik put in a hard-working shift in the middle and often moved to the wings to help out his teammates. Put in a strong effort to dominate Delhi’s strike-force and made five tackles and ten crucial clearances as well. Kept Kaludjerovic quiet throughout and put in a powerful effort late on to earn a crucial win for his side.

Dhanachandra Singh- 6.0

The left-back struggled to keep the terrorizing Chhangte quiet on his side and was given big problems by the young winger. He couldn’t press or contain Chhangte’s threat that well and was beaten for pace multiple times. Got nutmegged poorly for his goal. Improved slightly in the second half, making almost eight clearances and three interceptions,  while keeping the right-side quieter than usual.

Bikash Jairu- 6.0

Jairu put in a hard-working effort on the left and looked up for a battle. He managed to outwit Mohammed Dhot at times and put in a few promising crosses which weren’t met by anyone.

Farukh Chowdhary- 7.0

Watch: Farukh looked an energetic figure on the right and caused the Lions quite some problems

Farukh looked an energetic figure on the right and caused the Lions quite some problems with his pace and movement. He kept Narayan on his heels throughout and beat the left-back for pace on a few occasions. Created a few decent chances with some impressive crosses and his perseverance was rewarded when he scored a superb volley off a poor corner clearance. Farukh was later substituted, but did his Asian Cup chances a lot of good with that strike.

Substitutions

Jerry Mawhmingthanga- 6.0

Jerry added a lot of urgency to Jamshedpur’s attack after coming on and looked lively throughout. He made some blazing runs forward, but wasn’t really found that well by his teammates to add a goal to his tally.

Sumit Passi- 6.0

Passi got one real chance to seal the deal in the dying minutes, when a promising cross was met by his header which went just wide of the target.

Mobashir Rahman- NA

Mobashir created a decent chance instantly after coming on, putting in a great cross for Passi. Helped his side defend their lead and see out the game.

Delhi Dynamos

Albino Gomes- 6.0

Gomes did pretty well to nullify Jamshedpur’s set-piece threat by making some vital clearances with strong punches to divert corners. Couldn’t do much to save Cahill’s or Farukh’s goals,  but looked confident otherwise.

Mohammed Dhot- 6.5

Dhot put in a strong effort on the right and didn’t allow Jamshedpur to create real chances through his side. He defended intelligently to contain the Men of Steel and made six clearances as well as a few crunching tackles. Kept Jairu and Co. relatively quiet for most of the game.

Rana Gharami- 6.0

Gharami was having a tricky time containing Cahill, but didn’t allow the Australian to get ahead of him and into a goalscoring position too often. He did his work quietly and maintained his position well. was subbed off after half-time for the more attack-minded Nandhakumar.

Narayan Das- 6.0

The experienced defender was an ever-bearing figure on the left-hand side and moved forward with purpose to operate as a dangerous wing-back for his side. Das struggled defensively at times, but recovered well whenever attacking. Put in some decent crosses, but his best contribution was his clever pass which allowed Rene Milehic to assist Chhangte. Grew tired in the second half and was subbed off for Daniel Lalhimpuia.

Vinit Rai- 6.5

Rai was a really energetic figure in Delhi’s midfield and showed impressive alertness in coming forward to help his attackers. He maintained possession pretty well for his side, with a terrific 86% passing accuracy from 40+ passes. Put in a few creative balls forward and looked bright in attack, while winning back the ball with a few important interceptions.

Lallianzuala Chhangte- 7.5

Watch: Chhangte increased his Asian Cup chances with a bright performance

Chhangte was in sublime form at the Furnace. He seemed dangerous throughout the game and did nothing wrong going forward. Chhangte threatened early on with a blazing run and almost getting a shot on goal, but redeemed himself later on. The winger beautifully chested the ball down and slotted it into the net to give his side the lead.

He also created more goalscoring chances with some inviting crosses. Got a few more chances to score, but one attempt was saved well, while another one was scuffed. Increased his Asian Cup chances with a bright performance.

Substitutions

Nandhakumar Sekar- 6.5

Sekar looked a lively figure on the left after coming on in the second half and caused some real problems for Gurung. The winger tricked Jamshedpur with his movement and was unlucky not to earn a penalty when his attempt struck Gurung’s hand.

Daniel Lalhimpuia- 6.0
