The reigning champions did equalise in the dying minutes, but eventually lost to an injury-time goal.
Jorge Costa’s stuttering Mumbai City side picked up a crucial 2-3 victory against reigning champions Bengaluru FC at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium on Sunday. Although, the Blues looked to be in control of the match for the most part, at no point were they able to take the lead against Mumbai. Though, Gurpreet Singh Sandhu saved a penalty for the Blues, the late strike from Indian midfielder Rowlin Borges sealed the three points for the Islanders. Here are the Indian player ratings for the match: [KH_ADWORDS type="3" align="center"][/KH_ADWORDS]Bengaluru FC
Gurpreet Singh Sandhu- 6.5
Should’ve probably got a stronger hand on the Subhasish header for the Mumbai opener, but made a couple of other good stops. Produced a superb diving save to keep out a penalty.Nishu Kumar- 6.5
The full-back had an extremely productive first half in an attacking sense, but was constantly being manhandled by the big Mumbai attackers. He was replaced by Rahul Bheke at half-time.Harmanjot Khabra- 5.5
Although, the midfielder showed his versatility again on the night, his inability to produce anything of real quality in the final third did come back to haunt the Blues. Udanta Singh- 5.0
Although, he made some sharp runs and had some good touches in the first half, the speedster was merely a spectator all through the second period. Had minimal impact going forwardSunil Chhetri- 5.5
Stepped up to confidently slot home the penalty, but clearly wasn’t at his best. Made some silly decisions over the 90 minutes and should’ve been more clinical.Ashique Kuruniyan- 5.0
The young winger suffered both in attack and defence, owing to the sheer physicality that the Mumbai players brought to the table. Misplaced way too many simple passes.Substitutes
Semboi Haokip- 5.0
Came on and held the ball up well, but wasn’t able to create a positive impact.Rahul Bheke- 6.0
The Indian international was better equipped than Nishu Kumar to deal with the physical nature of the Mumbai attackers.Eugeneson Lyngdoh- N/A
Didn’t have time to make an impact. [KH_ADWORDS type="3" align="center"][/KH_ADWORDS]Mumbai City FC

The keeper made a couple of vital stops towards the end of the match and did well to even get a hand on Chhetri’s penalty. Overall, a good return to Bengaluru for the shot-stopper.Sarthak Golui- 6.0
The full-back was guilty of handling the ball from a Bengaluru set-piece and deservedly gave away a penalty. Worked hard to track back and maintain the line.Pratik Chaudhari- 6.5
The big centre-back had a couple of half-chances in the Bengaluru box, that he created with his strength. Dealt with a lot of crosses from the home side on the night.Subhasish Bose- 6.5
Got the away team off to a flying start by scoring a very good opener. Worked extremely hard at the back and put in a proper shift as the Blues piled on the pressure. [KH_RELATED_NEWS title="Related News | ARTICLE CONTINUES BELOW"][/KH_RELATED_NEWS]Rowlin Borges- 7.0
