The win helped the Gaurs dethrone ATK at the top of the standings.

Chennaiyin FC and FC Goa faced off in a tie between two clubs with varying ambitions. The hosts went into the match hoping to make up ground on the top four, while FC Goa were looking to go top of the table, after other results around the country had gone their way.

Goals from Ahmed Jahouh, Brandon Fernandes, Hugo Boumous and Ferran Corominas helped the Gaurs clinch a hard-fought victory over the Marina Machans on Thursday night. We at Khel Now bring you the ratings of all the Indian players involved in the contest:

Chennaiyin FC

Vishal Kaith- 5.0

While the goalkeeper was not expressly at fault for any of the goals, Kaith will be disappointed that he was unable to do more for his side, who were carved apart with alarming regularity. Four goals from four shots does not make for good reading for the Chennaiyin custodian.

Edwin Sydney Vanspaul- 4.0

The usually reliable right-back was found lacking against FC Goa on multiple occasions, particularly in the first half. Vanspaul was continually caught high up the pitch, allowing the likes of Brandon Fernandes the chance to get in behind the defence of Chennaiyin.

With just a single successful tackle and a presentable opportunity skied, it was a game to forget for the 27-year-old who was sent off for a second yellow card in added-time.

WATCH: Match Highlights - Chennaiyin FC 3-4 FC Goa

Tondonba Singh- 4.0

Hardly the worst Chennaiyin player in the first half, but such was the irresistibility of the visitors. Multiple crosses by Goa found their way past the left-back, who looked out of his depth along with the rest of his teammates. No attacking contributions and a meager 46% passing accuracy saw Tondonba withdrawn at half-time.

Germanpreet Singh- 6.0

Germanpreet, just like most of the Chennaiyin side, often found himself run over by the rampant FC Goa players in the first half. However, in the second, the midfielder came good by breaking up the Gaurs' rhythm in midfield. Germanpreet made four interceptions, three tackles and a block over the course of the 90 minutes.

Anirudh Thapa- 7.0

Thapa looked like the brightest player in midfield for his side, as he tried to create and get his team forward at every opportunity. The youngster made four interceptions, two tackles and maintained a passing accuracy of 73%, while also creating a chance.

Lallianzuala Chhangte- 5.0

It seems to be a case of one step forward, two steps back for the winger, who looked back to his usual frustrating self against Goa. The youngster repeatedly found himself in good situations, but wasted them time and again. Chhangte failed to complete a single cross or create a single chance over the course of the 90 minutes.

Substituitions

Jerry Lalrinzuala- 6.0

Brought on at half-time for Tondonba Singh, Jerry shored up Chennaiyin's left flank, with two clearances, two interceptions and a block. The defender will be hoping for a more regular role in the side.

FC Goa

Mohammad Nawaz- 5.0

For a game that saw Nawaz ship in three goals, the youngster had precious little to do over the course of the 90 minutes. While there was nothing he could have done for the first two goals, the goalkeeper will be disappointed that he allowed the sighter from Crivellaro in, specially in the dying moments of the match.

Seriton Fernandes- 6.0

The Goa right-back offered little going forward, but maintained a passing accuracy of 85%. Fernandes was put on the back foot by Lallianzuala Chhangte's pace in the second half, but stood his ground more often than not. The defender made five clearances, two tackles and two interceptions over the course of the match.

Mandar Rao Dessai- 5.5

The left-back was functional, if not spectacular against Channaiyin. The Goa skipper managed an impressive passing accuracy of 86%, but offered little going forward. A neat and tidy performance.

Lenny Rodrigues- 6.5

The midfielder was a pass master for his side. Rodrigues maintained a passing accuracy of 82% over the course of the game, covering for the players in front of him with his expert positioning. Lenny also made two clearances, two interceptions and two blocks to round off a complete midfield performance.

Brandon Fernandes- 8.0

The attacker found plenty of joy down Goa's left against Edwin Vanspaul. However, it was from a more central attacking position that Fernandes capitalized on an error from Lucian Goian to score the Gaurs' second goal of the night. The No. 10 won 100% of his tackles, in addition to an accomplished performance in attack.

Jackichand Singh- 7.0

The 27-year-old was part of an irresistible FC Goa frontline that found its way in behind the Chennaiyin defence often. Jackichand assisted Corominas in the 63rd minute to bring an end to any hopes of a Chennaiyin comeback in the second half. The winger also managed six crosses over the course of the game.

Substituitions

Manvir Singh- 5.0

Manvir was brought on in the 76th minute to add a little bite to the Goa attack. However, he was not able to get on the scoresheet this time around.
