Sergio Lobera: The conditions of the match changed our plans

The FC Goa boss also revealed that he feels Kerala Blasters dominated in the second half.

FC Goa and Kerala Blasters played out a five-goal thriller, which saw the Gaurs beat the visitors at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium on Saturda night. Following the win, FC Goa head coach Sergio Lobera interacted in the post-match press conference.

“Kerala (Blasters) dominated the second half. I think the first half is for us and the second half is for Kerala. But the most important thing for me is that I am very proud of my players and their strong mentality and belief till the end," Sergio Lobera began.

The Spaniard also spoke regarding the pressure put on his side by Kerala Blasters in the second half. “In the half time I spoke to the players about how defending two nil is by scoring the third goal but you play against a very good team and maybe it’s not possible," the tactician quipped.

"Because the opponent team played very well in the second half, had the ball, kept the possession and created chances against us. It is not intentional for us to go back. The opponent team put us in a bad position but it is not our intention. Our intention was to score the third goal because it was very important for us to finish the match," Sergio Lobera added.
