The Englishman struggled to help the new entrants to become a top side in the league this season.

Hyderabad FC have decided to sack head coach Phil Brown with immediate effect. The decision to sack the the Englishman, who replaced Miguel Angel Portugal at FC Pune City and took over from interim coach Pradhyum Reddy, come after Hyderabad FC were defeated by Chennaiyin FC on Friday night at home. "We at the club would like to sincerely thank Phil for his efforts since joining Hyderabad FC. We have had some challenging times in the inaugural season and Phil led the team admirably. All of us at the club would like to wish Phil the very best in his future endeavors," said Varun Tripuraneni, co-owner of Hyderabad FC. [KH_ADWORDS type="3" align="center"][/KH_ADWORDS] Since taking over the job in the middle of 2018-19 season, Phil Brown has been in charge of 18 games, winning four, drawing four and losing 10 with a win percentage of 22.22%. Although the former Bolton Wanderers and Hull City manager managed to steady a sinking ship in the last season with FC Pune City, the beginning of 2019-20 was far from being kind with the Englishman. After shifting bases to Hyderabad from Pune, Hyderabad FC received a huge blow as star midfielder Nestor Gordillo was handed a ban by the AIFF, along with many injuries to integral players. However, the highlight of Brown's time at Hyderbad FC must be the draws against reigning ISL champions Bengaluru FC and heavyweights ATK, both results which turned the the eyes of fans and pundits alike on the new entrants. No further details regarding the new head coach of the side have been shared by the club or sources close to the development as of now.
