             68' Manvir

FC Goa are victorious on the night and are deserved winners against a distraught Hyderabad side. They had to dig in for the win but they got the all-important goal through the super-sub Manvir Singh who headed the winner in the 68th minute. Hyderabad had a golden opportunity a quarter of an hour from time but Adil Khan missed the big chance. The sorry script for the Nizams continues as Brown looks to be at his wit's end, his team remain rooted to the bottom and are struggling to wriggle themselves out of the hole, and with Stankovic's injury early on in the game nothing is going right for them this season and you got to feel sorry for them. But the better team on the day has won. The Gaurs could've had more goals had it not been for their profligacy and indecision in the final third but their defence held on well and staved Hyderabad off any serious intrusions on goal. But Lobera's men arrest their winless run over the past two games with a hard-earned victory on a humid night here in Hyderabad to get the three points and move to the third spot in the ISL standings.  THAT'S IT!! FULL-TIME IN HYDERABAD AS THE GAURS HOLD ON AND WIN 90+5' Final few seconds to see out for Goa as they are comfortable with the lead and the ball. Hyderabad have a chance on the counter but as has been the case on the night, they have been profligate in the final third. That should be that for the game. 90+4' Goa make their final change as Edu Bedia makes way for Rebello 90+2' Into the second minute of added time we go. Three long minutes for Goa, three short ones for Hyderabad. The Gaurs seem destined to go to 3rd spot in the standings by the look of proceedings. 90' We are into the final minute of regulation time as both teams are fighting tooth-and-nail to get some position of comfort for themselves. Five minutes of added time announced 88' Just a case of seeing it out for the Gaurs as they look to maintain the lead as they make their second change with Jackichand coming on for Brandon Fernandes. Brandon was fantastic today for the Gaurs 85' Hyderabad certainly seem to be missing Stankovic as Goa have been better in the midfield and have the all-important lead on the night. It has been a case of missed chances today for them and that has proven to be costly today. Nothing seems to be going for Phil Brown and his men at the moment. 81' Hyderabad are once again left to come from behind and are putting in the hard yards but Goa are clinging onto their lead pretty well and look to be in a position to maintain their lead. But could we have a replay of the last game here in Hyderabad and have some late drama on show? 80' Boumous goes on a solo run at the Hyderabad's defence but drags his shot wide of goal. A good run but he would've expected more from it considering the space he was in. Final ten minutes in the game as Hyderabad continue their fightback. 77' Hyderabad bring on Gani Ahmed for Yasir 76' What a chance?!! Adil Khan had the goal all to himself and how did he not nestle it into the net? A wonderful cross once again from Marcelinho finds him in space and he has all the time in the world to put it past Nawaz but fluffs his shot wide. He should've brought Hyderabad level and that is a costly miss. 74' Both goalkeepers have been booked now as Nawaz too finds his way into the referee's book for time-wasting as well. That doesn't bear well for the game with players getting booked for time-wasting. 72' Goa have finally got what they want and are happily defending their lead at the moment. The sad storyline continues for the Nizams continues as they are trying hard but are down once again at home. Such has been their case this season. 68' GOAL!!!! Goa finally have their goal for their efforts and perseverance. Hyderabad's resistance is finally broken as the visitors take the lead through Manvir Singh off a corner. A thumping header into the goal as he beats Adil Khan to the ball. Brandon is the assister once again. The Gaurs deservedly take the lead here in Hyderabad.  65' Was that a penalty? Goa players appeal to the referee for a fouling touch on the edge of the box as Rai brings down Brandon but the referee is having nothing of it. Replays show that there was contact from the Hyderabad wing-back. A poor decision from the referee there. That should've been a penalty to the Gaurs and they would feel hard-done-by the rejection. 64' Wide!! Marcelinho whips in another testing ball in from a free-kick but Bobo heads it just over the bar. A tough chance but a chance indeed for Hyderabad considering their shortage of chances on goal 62' Both teams make substitutions with Hyderabad bringing on Robin Singh for Danmawia, and Goa swapping Manvir for Doungel 60' For all their efforts at goal, Goa have been really sloppy in the final third and they have met their match so far with Hyderabad defending resolutely. The game is moving on thin ice here. A mistake could make the difference here but all play is coming from Goa as we move past the hour mark. 58' Bobo has a shot from distance and looks to snuck it into Nawaz's near post but the goalkeeper is alert to the situation and makes a simple save to his right. 56' Chance missed!! There was the opportunity for Hugo to put Goa ahead, he was played in brilliantly by Brandon but he scuffles and doesn't shoot with good pressure applied from Kamaljit as he rushes to collect the ball for Hyderabad. 54' Goa are pressing well and high and are pegging Hyderabad back in their own box. They are coming in on goal but still no respite for them 50' Chinglesena Singh follows Seriton into the referee's book for a foul on Bobo 49' Seriton is the first Goa player to be booked on the night for a shove on Yasir. 48' Goa have started briskly in the second half and come close on Hyderabad's goal but they are staved off again. SECOND HALF BEGINS AT HYDERABAD AS THE HOME TEAM RE-COMMENCE PROCEEDINGS Both teams return to the tunnel as half-time is signalled at the GMC Balayogi Stadium. Both sides have had chances and have sweated it out on a humid night but haven't been really threatening. Hyderabad started off briskly with a couple of attempts on goal but Goa eased into the game with control of possession. Apart from a Marcelinho effort that was saved by Nawaz, there hasn't been any real inroads on goal. Hyderabad also had their talisman, Marko Stankovic, exit in the opening minutes with what seemed to be a potential hamstring pull. Adil Khan too seemed uncomfortable before half-time. Phil Brown will hope there are no more continuations to the injury nightmare in his squad. The game should open up in the second half as both teams will look to rejig their gameplans. Hopefully we can see some goals and action. But at half-time, it's still 0-0  THE REFEREE BLOWS THE WHISTLE AND IT'S HALF-TIME AT HYDERABAD. WE ARE STILL IN A STALEMATE.  45+2' Goa win a corner on the right flank as we go into the final minute of the first half. Their corner is dealt with by Hyderabad and that should be that. 45+1' Two minutes of added time are indicated as both teams look for a reprieve, but they seem more intent on seeing out the first half. 44' Both teams have neutralized each other well but that in turn has turned the game into an impasse with neither team proving to be clinical enough as we are a minute away from the end of the first half. 41' Kamaljit is the first player to be booked for time-wasting. A needless yellow card indeed for the Hyderabad skipper 40' There could be more trouble for Hyderabad as Adil Khan is down on the pitch. He is making his first appearance after missing the four previous games. Thankfully for Phil Brown, the defender is back on for the home team. But he certainly will be assessed at half-time. 37' Apart from that one shot from Marcelinho, either side's defence hasn't been tested much and both teams are wasteful of their chances as we inch towards half-time. It would be a perfect time for either team to break the status quo. 35' Confusion in the box as Rafa Lopez blazes his shot high above the bar. He signals to Yasir saying he was expecting him to take the ball. Hyderabad are creating chances but are fumbling them at the altar. Would they live to regret it? Goa are a good side on the road in terms of results. 30' Both teams have had chances and shots on goal but the final bit is elusive for both sides with half an hour done and dusted in Match 34. Hyderabad have had better chances, Goa have got into good attacking positions but who will get that opening bit, if there is any to come. 27' Saved!! A desperate save from Nawaz. A threatening shot from Marcelinho who shot it with great power to the far post. A good save that from the Goa keeper but that will motivate Hyderabad to go one better. That is their first chance in a long while. A corner to come. 25' An interesting stat here as Goa's away record of 44 goals under Sergio Lobera is the most by a team under a manager in the Hero ISL. They would be looking to improve that record by translating some of their efforts today into goals. 22' Goa come on the counter but Len Doungel hits a disappointing shot straight into the welcoming hands of Kamaljit. He should've been doing better in that situation and looked for someone in a better position. 19' Hyderabad have conceded a goal with every 3rd shot they've faced on target this season and the way Goa are creating chances at the moment, they need a real moment of inspiration from any of their individuals. Goa are threatening Kamaljit's post time and again here and Lobera will be happy with the way his players have reacted after a nervy first five minutes with the Gaurs really having settled well into the game here. 15' Goa have bossed the last 8-10 minutes with possession and have moved the ball well with an effort at goal as well. They are currently having 65% possession and are controlling the game with some good forward passes and frequent forays into the opposition area. 12' A close shave that from Jahouh as his long-range effort whizzes past Kamaljit's post. That was a close one and a good effort from the burly midfielder. 9' Stankovic's premature exit has somewhat halted Hyderabad's opening salvo as the visitors are seeing more of the ball. His transition play was an important part of Hyderabad's brisk start. Interesting to see how the Nizams will cope in his absence now. 6' Hyderabad are in real trouble here as Stankovic clutches his hamstring and is down on the pitch. He is asking for a substitution. Early problems for Phil Brown. Another player is down with an injury. He is taken off as Giles Barnes comes on for him. That's a huge blow early on for the home team. 3' Ooohhh!!! Hyderabad have got off the blocks and almost opened the scoring with Rafa heading a cross from a corner from Marcelinho but the midfielder heads it agonizingly wide. Poor marking from Goa, Hyderabad have applied the early pressure well. 7:30 PM: Both teams warm themselves up for the occasion before getting into the action as the referees sort out the pre-game requirements. Goa will kick-us off today. This promises to be an exciting encounter. 7:23 PM: We are into the action now as both teams come out of the players' tunnel for the pre-game pleasantries. We will have the National Anthem. Hyderabad FC play in their home kit of black and gold whereas Goa sport their white and orange. 7:12 PM: Hyderabad will be happy with the return of Adil Khan in their defence which needs some strengthening having conceded 13 so far this season and Phil Brown will be counting on him to steer the team past turbulent waters today. 7:07 PM: We are nearing towards kick-off as both teams look to put on a positive display of football with three crucial points up for grabs. A win for Goa will see them leapfrog Jamshedpur ahead of the latter's game tomorrow into 3rd place. A victory though for the Nizams would take them to seventh place and that could prove to be a massive boost for them with a win against one of the tournament favourites and two-time finalists. 7:02 PM: Goa have been the second-highest goalscorers this season with 12 but have also conceded 8 goals in their six games. Their defence has been particularly of concern for Lobera and he would be looking to fix the small leaks in their defence. Hyderabad, on the other hand, have been struggling for goals, the reason which they languish at the bottom of the table. 6:56 PM: Both coaches are on the lookout for a victory after a string of disappointing results but will happy in welcoming some members into the squad's fold with Hyderabad getting most of their injured players back to regular form and Goa getting Jahouh and Doungel back from suspensions as Manvir gives way to Edu Bedia in the striking position. Robin Singh is on the bench for Hyderabad today. Chinglesena replaces the suspended Mourtada Fall. Jackichand too starts on the bench. 6:49 PM: Here are today's starting lineups for both sides. Hyderabad FC: Kamaljit (GK)(C), Poojary, Adil Khan, Kilgallon, Rai, Yasir, Stankovic, Rafa Lopez, Ralte, Marcelinho, Bobo Substitutes: Kattimani (GK), Barnes, Halder, Shankar, Rohit Kumar, Nigam, Robin FC Goa: Nawaz (GK), Seriton, Singh, Pena, Mandar (C), Boumous, Jahouh, Lenny, Brandon, Doungel, Edu Bedia Substitutes: Naveen (GK), Ali, Saviour, Rebello, Ranawade, Manvir, Jackichand  6:43 PM: It has been a tough initiation to the ISL for Hyderabad FC as they just haven't got going this season with injuries and poor performances. But their draw against defending champions Bengaluru and players returning from injuries is sure to give them some hope of competing against a strong Goa team who would love to get three points having drawn and lost their last two games. Phil Brown says the most important for him is that the treatment room is empty “Every coach in the world will have injuries and suspension issues. The most important thing for us is that the treatment room is empty now. But we have two suspended from the same position. But, I also think that we have a good mindset at the moment regardless of who is playing in that position,” said Brown. “We are coming out in the ISL as a group. The energy is in the group. The suspensions of Gurtej and Sahil are normal – these things happen in football. The competition is at its best since I have been to India,” he said. Sergio Lobera feels this is the toughest campaigns in the last three years “This is the most difficult season in the last three years. The other teams have signed big players. All the teams are very competitive. We are better but the situation now is very competitive,” said Lobera.
