The Men of Steel have struggled for consistency in performances and results this season.
Jamshedpur FC’s penultimate fixture in the Indian Super League will be against Hyderabad FC at the G.M.C. Balayogi Athletic Stadium in Hyderabad on Thursday. The outfit led by Antonio Iriondo played out a thrilling 3-3 draw with NorthEast United FC in the last match, wherein the team missed a penalty, saw a player sent off, scored twice and even conceded twice in the final 15 minutes. At the pre-match press conference, Iriondo recalled the fixture and said, “It was a crazy match. This kind of situation doesn’t usually happen when you have experience in the field. So many goals were scored late. Experienced players know how to control the situation. The thing is that we have a lot of young players in the team. We have to learn from the game. But these things can happen. For us, it was a very good game. We learnt a lot from the situation.” [KH_ADWORDS type="4" align="center"][/KH_ADWORDS] Antonio Iriondo also looked ahead to the Hyderabad tie, stating, “We want to win. Both teams are struggling for victories. We are not getting to the top four, but we want to play the best match we can and try to win.” Goalkeeper Rafique Ali was also present at the media briefing, where he said, “We will all try to fight together. We will not give up and fight till the last minute. In the last match, we conceded a goal early. After that, we equalized before half time. After that, we had a positive attitude and fought. The fighting spirit is there in the dressing room.” “We won’t get the home advantage in Hyderabad match. But we are together and believe in each other. We help and support each other. We play with unity. I played in the last match. I tried to give 100% and all my teammates supported me. I wouldn’t have done well without my teammates’ support,” he added.
