The Kerala Blasters head coach revealed his unhappiness with the referring in Sunday night's game.

Jamshedpur FC won against Kerala Blasters 3-2, as the former are now languishing in eighth spot with 14 points from 13 matches. Following the defeat against the Men of Steel, Kerala Blasters head coach Eelco Schattorie interacted with the media in the post-match press conference.

Eelco Schattorie was quizzed about his thoughts regarding the game and the performance that his team put up, when he answered, “I take my job very seriously; meaning I work from morning to evening late to get my team in the best possible shape.”

“If referees decide games like this then…there can be people in the stands and in the media, who say that the coach needs to be composed. But, when you are on the receiving end of things, it is crazy, it is really crazy. So, Bengaluru coach winning, winning, but now going a bit loose. Same, if you are on the receiving end, the referees make decisions like that, it is ridiculous. There is no need to analyze the game, there’s no use,” the Dutchman further remarked.

Abdul Nediyodath was sent off in the 50th minute by the referee. Eelco Schattorie opined on the incident as he said, “Yes, I think with ten men we still put up a good show. We scored 2-1. I didn’t have many options on the bench, to change the way I want to change. But, we still managed. The penalty? Yes, okay. The own-goal? Bad luck. Of course, when you play with ten men, it’s very difficult.”

Kerala Blasters have five more games to play this season and they are still seven points behind fourth-placed Odisha FC. Eelco Schattorie is bound to be feeling the heat, as the Yellow Brigade are looking towards the end of another arguably dissatisfying season. They will next face FC Goa on January 25.
