The Men of Steel are yet to win a game since beating FC Goa in November.

Jamshedpur FC will face Kerala Blasters on Sunday for their 12th ISL encounter of the season. The Red Miners languish at the eighth spot with seven games still to play. Although their chances to make it to the play-offs are grim as they are eight points behind fourth-placed team Odisha FC. Head coach Antonio Iriondo and player David Grande addressed the media personnel ahead of the game.

Coach's Corner

Antonio Iriondo was asked about his thoughts and the reasons behind the team’s sub-standard performances this season. He said, “We are doing as much as we can to win the games. If you look at the last game, we had more possession, we had 14 corner kicks and they had four." [KH_ADWORDS type="4" align="center"][/KH_ADWORDS] "But then, we weren’t able to score. We missed opportunities and we gift them the second goal. So, I think we are doing all the right things to win but the situation is that we have not been able to win and it has been a long time now." "But I think the way we are working and the way we are playing, it has to stop soon so it is going to be sooner than later. The team is doing what they have to do to finish this (dry run of results).” The coach was also reminded of his side’s last encounter with Kerala when the opposition scored two late goals to earn a draw as Jamshedpur blew away a valuable lead. The coach responded to that by stating, “I hope we have learnt something from that match. It maybe was the beginning of this bad streak of results." "It is very painful when you are winning by two goals and you lost that advantage in 15 minutes. The team is working and trying to win to finish this situation as I said before,” Antonio Iriondo concluded. David Grande was asked about how he overlooked his team’s ongoing quest for qualification considering they are merely a point behind Kerala Blasters at the moment. Grande remarked, “I am aware of the situation. I am also aware that we have played one match lesser than other teams and I am confident that we can keep going up in the table." "We have to be focused in the next match, win that match and then go to the next match. I am confident in the team that we have the quality to finish in the top four.” [KH_RELATED_NEWS title="Related News | ARTICLE CONTINUES BELOW"][/KH_RELATED_NEWS]
