The Dutchman was extremely happy after the win and spoke about his team selection as well.
Kerala Blasters decimated Hyderabad FC 5-1 in their 11th game of the ongoing season. Eelco Schattorie and Co. registered the second win of their campaign against Hyderabad, who are now languishing at the bottom of the table with a single victory so far. The coach addressed media personnel after the game. He was asked about the mentality of the team and the change that resulted in a flurry of goals being scored by them. Eelco Schattorie replied, “Nothing (changed). We had the same (mentality) against Jamshedpur. We had the same thing against ATK at home. The mentality, there’s nothing wrong with it. We have been a few times, very unlucky." [KH_ADWORDS type="3" align="center"][/KH_ADWORDS] “One of the things sometimes lacking, or something I can change is the physicality, especially from my wingers. But, overall, even in the last game against NorthEast, before the game, I had 100% conviction that we would win. Unfortunately, we got this penalty against us.” He further remarked, “Again, I keep coming back to the same thing. Hopefully, we can play 3-4 games with the same XI; it is essential to get the results in the long run. The spirit and the mentality, from Day One, there is nothing wrong with it." “I know the media love to put pressure on it and question on these things, but there’s nothing wrong there. It is just a matter of having everyone fit and creating consistency, nothing else. Anyone who thinks he knows better there, he doesn’t understand football.” The coach then spoke on the situation surrounding the selection of Holicharan Narzary over Prasanth Karuthadathkuni in the XI. He said, “I think, all the wingers that I have; look, Seityasen (Singh), I can completely, completely understand this boy didn’t play for the whole last year. Hopefully, slowly, he gets into a certain rhythm because that’s important. But, it isn’t where it should be now. I am happy he bagged a goal and had a few more dribbles." [KH_RELATED_NEWS title="Related News | Article Continues Below"][/KH_RELATED_NEWS] “Holi, it’s the same idea, also had a long injury last year, was under-performing; but I am happy that he proved me wrong. Prasanth, till now, has worked very hard. People, they don’t see that. They just see the goals. He actually had an assist not too long ago. I protected him.” “As for Prasanth, it was time to try a change. Last week, I was saying that about (Rahul) KP, I hoped that he maintained because he has adapted, he has scored and he has a good shot. It would give me more options. But, I am happy; both wingers did decent," concluded Eelco Schattorie.Latest News
