The Portuguese is optimistic of getting the three points in Guwahati against the Highlanders.
Mumbai City FC are in Guwahati to take on the hosts NorthEast United FC at the Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium tomorrow evening. On the eve of the game coach Jorge Costa and goalkeeper Amrinder Singh were in attendance at the customary pre-match press conference, where they fielded questions from the journalists. The custodian said that the mood in the dressing room is positive and the international break was a welcome one for the team. [KH_ADWORDS type="3" align="center"][/KH_ADWORDS] “The mood in the training is always right. We have a good coach and very good players in the team. We had a couple of injuries and then we lost the last two games. The break came at a good time for us. So, we can prepare well and reflect on the mistakes we have been making. I guess we are now ready to play well.” The India international also refuted claims that the absence of former captain Lucian Goian is hurting the defence in front of him, “Lucian was a great player for us. But, we have signed Mato (Grgic) this season, who is also a good player. I have a good understanding on the pitch with the defence and it doesn’t feel like we have begun playing only recently.” Despite the underwhelming start to the league, Jorge Costa believes his side can kick on from now and is confident of putting in a strong show tomorrow. “Last season too, we had four points from as many games, like this time. Though, this is not the start we wanted, as we wanted to get off the blocks faster," he said. "We had some injury problems, but I am fully confident in this team and I know what needs to be done. It is a tough game tomorrow, but I hope we can have the three points on our side," added Jorge Costa. The Islanders' opponents tomorrow are the unbeaten NorthEast United FC at home and on being asked how he plans to deal with the Highlanders, Jorge Costa said, “I always tell my players to adapt to the game, to do what the game asks them to do. We must be clever. We have our way of playing, but sometimes we need to adjust to the situation.” “We can only say we will give our best, fight till the end and as said I before, we can win the three points tomorrow,” the coach asserted. [KH_RELATED_NEWS title="Related News | Article Continues Below"][/KH_RELATED_NEWS] This is the second season in the ISL for the Portuguese and he believes the quality of the league this term is a notch above the previous. “I think all of us are learning here everyday, as this is a league that is growing every season. Surely, the quality of games this season is better than the last and we know that all of us have a lot of work to do." "This is one of the reasons why I am here, so that with my experience, I can bring something to this league," concluded Jorge Costa.Latest News
