The Spaniard reacted after his side's defeat to ATK Mohun Bagan on Monday.
Bengaluru FC head coach Carles Cuadrat faced questions from the media after his side’s narrow defeat to ATK Mohun Bagan. A goal from David Williams post the half-hour mark made the difference between the two sides in a closely-contested affair at the Fatorda Stadium.
Thoughts on the game
When asked about the result, Cuadrat replied, “It has been a difficult month with five games in 21 days. We are looking to put on fresh legs and I wanted to give the opportunity to players like Udanta (Singh), Leon (Augustine). We tried to get to the same levels of physicality as ATKMB and to that level, I am happy that we tried till the 95th minute."
“In the end, little margins make the difference. The quality of (David) Williams and (Roy) Krishna punished us and you have to accept it,” added Cuadrat.

Expectations before the game
The strength of the two teams meant that we would’ve expected a high-scoring game on the cards, but that was not to be, as the sides took a rather conservative approach to their gameplay. When asked about the same, Carles Cuadrat replied “Yes, I think they didn’t create very good chances either, we knew at the start it was going to be a gritty game and was to end 0-0 or 1-0. They got the goal and they were comfortable in defence. We tried to create more energy upfront, but it was tough to break their backline.”

Takeaways from the result
The defeat would’ve been a tough pill to swallow for Bengaluru, considering that they were the only team in the league not to have lost so far this campaign, but Carles Cuadrat mentioned his intent to focus on the positives that they can take from the game. When asked about it, the Spaniard replied, “We can take a lot of positives, we knew we were against a very competitive team. We were pretty close to getting a result; the players showed me that they can stick to the match plan and they made it tough for the opposition.”
