Against Hyderabad FC, FC Goa and Juan Ferrando found themselves trailing 1-0 in the closing moments for the second game in a row this season before two late-goals sparked a revival. Indian youngster Ishan Pandita scored the equaliser in the 87th minute before ISL top-scorer Igor Angulo wrapped up the points for the Gaurs.
After the match, Juan Ferrando spoke to the media on a host of topics including Pandita's and ANgulo's performances and the road ahead for his team.
Ferrando on Ishan Pandita
Pandita has been on the fringes of FC Goa’s regular squad and when called upon provided the much-needed equaliser. “Ishan is a young player. He needs to work and improve a lot. Today was a good moment, we had a good opportunity. This is his job. The most important is to be in control and work hard day-by-day.”

On the overall performance of the FC Goa youngsters so far this season
Despite several eye-catching performances by youngsters in the Goan squad, the head coach feels that they still have lots to do before they hit their peak levels. “I am very happy, but we need to work a lot. When the intensity of the game gets high, you can see a lot of mistakes, a lot of tactical problems. It is necessary to help them and they have to continue working because their talent is there.”
On Hyderabad FC
Ferrando knew the quality that the opposition possessed within their ranks and saw a bright future ahead for Hyderabad. “It was going to be a difficult game because Hyderabad is a very good team. They try to play football. It is difficult to find spaces because they close up quickly in defence. They are very good in transitions and positional attacking. Hyderabad has great potential.”

On Igor Angulo
Igor Angulo had the unenviable task of replacing FC Goa’s talismanic striker Ferran Corominas. However, he has shown that he is upto the task.“ At the end, everybody is working hard in their positions. Igor is working a lot. He is a very good No.9. Everybody knows about this, not only in India but in Spain and Poland as well. But, it is also necessary to continue working because it is better to have more options.”
On the road ahead for himself and FC Goa
Ferrando feels that his side needs to maintain composure and be ready to deal with any kind of situation thrown at them. “At the end, it is very important to be calm because in the last two games we won 2-1 in the last minute. It is necessary to start the game with more character and personality and no adverse reaction after conceding a goal,” The tactician concluded.
