The Scotsman spoke ahead of his side's important clash against NorthEast United on Friday.
Jamshedpur FC will be looking to bounce back to winning ways when they go up against NorthEast United. The Men of Steel started brightly against Mumbai City FC, but then with a man down, they could only hold the fort and salvage a crucial point from the fixture. So, Owen Coyle and his men will be eager to win all three points against the Highlanders and get their season going. Speaking ahead of their big clash, the Scotsman reminisced about the stellar performance from his men against Mumbai City.
Loss against Mumbai City
"It was an outstanding performance. We would have loved to end it 11 Vs 11 and could have won the game. But, that being said, the spirit and quality we should when down to ten men was very good. We still have a number of players not available, so it is a source of satisfaction to see how hard the group is working to try and win points and we are in the right direction," said Coyle at the pre-match press conference.
The tactician revealed how his team have been marred with long-term injuries, with several players having failed to even start their campaign in India. On Friday he will miss another crucial player in Aitor Monroy, who was sent off against Mumbai City FC. So, it will be a further challenge for the former Wigan boss to assemble a starting lineup good enough to break NorthEast's unbeaten streak.

"It is the same when Dinliana wasn't available and players like David Grande, Joyner (Lourenco), Narender (Gahlot), Nick Fitzgerald are also unavailable, so the list is endless. But, the boys who we have to focus on and whoever is asked to come on will do a job."
Response from the squad
Owen Coyle sounded very impressed with the NorthEast United squad this season, but he believes that if Jamshedpur can play to their best abilities they can walk home with all three points.

"The foreigners and Indian players in the NorthEast United squad have shown that they are a very good team and are very hardworking. It is going to be a tough game like all of them are in the ISL. They deserve enormous respect, but it is a game we are looking forward to and if we are at our best, it is a game that we can win," he opined.

Gerard Nus as a coach
Lastly, he highlighted how strong Gerard Nus and his team are and also explained how his team are going to play against the Highlanders.
"Gerard Nus as a coach has done really well, but then the ISL is filled with fantastic coaches, so they have started well and credit to them. In terms of strategy, I am very respectful to the opposition and the quality they have, but our focus will be on Jamshedpur and bringing out our game.
“We have to be aware at the first trying to nullify them, but equally looking for chances where our players can impose themselves on the game. We are five games unbeaten and we want to get three points. To do that, we have to play at our maximum," Owen Coyle concluded.
