Owen Coyle: I want to develop young Indian talents like Aniket Jadhav

The Scotsman spoke on the back of his side's crucial win against NorthEast United on Friday.
Jamshedpur FC have ended NorthEast United's unbeaten run in the Indian Super League with a narrow 0-1 win. It was youngster Aniket Jadhav who stepped up and scored the solitary goal in the game to earn his side a crucial win. The Men of Steel have now climbed up to fifth spot in the league table and head coach Owen Coyle was elated with the performance put in by his players.
He said, "I said to the players that NorthEast have had an unbeaten start and they have been outstanding. But, we have been on an unbeaten run too, albeit the draws where we felt we could have won. Tonight, we went on to stamp that authority, got the three points and climbed up the table. I think we thoroughly deserve the three points, with seven players missing tonight with injuries. So, the others have come in and have shown great spirit. But, I believe we still have to get better as the season continues."
Thoughts on backing Aniket Jadhav
Aniket Jadhav scored the solitary goal of the match and it felt like he repaid Coyle's faith. The Scotsman kept backing him even after some of his misses earlier in the season and tonight the youngster proved him right.
"Absolutely! You are never going to score in every chance you get. Aniket has always been in positions where he was trying to score. I have been there as a striker myself and have missed many chances. But then, I got back at it and scored many goals. I encouraged Aniket to do that.
“He has pace, power and we just need to give him a bit of understanding of the game. There are little bits that we need to add, but he was outstanding tonight and thoroughly deserved to score the winning goal. I am so pleased with him, he is a wonderful young Indian talent and these are players I want to help develop," Coyle added.

Opinions on Valskis and his overall contribution as a striker
Nerijus Valskis has started right from where he left last season, with six goals already. However, the Lithuanian looked frustrated at times with the lack of balls from midfield. Addressing that, Coyle opined, "We were in some wonderful positions, but what we need to work on is that final pass or cross with quality. If we do that, then Valskis is always there. But then, he is not a player who has to score in every game, he can contribute to the team even without scoring. He leads the line, brings the ball up. He is just an outstanding player and we are very fortunate to have him."

Thoughts on Rehenesh and Peter Hartley's performance
The Men of Steel were in a spot of bother when Stephen Eze brought down Benjamin Lambot in the box and the referee awarded a penalty. However, TP Rehenesh had a moment of magic, as he managed to thwart Idrissa Sylla’s spot-kick. Also, Peter Hartley has been immense, as he won consecutive Hero of the Match awards for keeping things in order at the back. Owen Coyle was delighted with the duo’s performance, as he said, "I feel Rehenesh has been outstanding since the start of the season and that is why I signed him. With Hartley, I knew what I was getting. I knew he was a leader, a commander and he is also a wonderful player. He and Eze are looking like a great partnership. It was very important and long may it continue."

Jackchand Singh as a No. 10 and areas of improvement
Lastly, the tactician revealed how he feels that Jackichand Singh can be used as a No. 10 and what are the areas his team needs to improve for the future.
"I think Jackichand can play as a No. 10. I see that every day in training. Obviously, with William (Lalnunfela) getting injured and failing the fitness, we decided to change things up and brought Jackichand in with Aniket and Isaac (Vanlalruatfela) on either side. He is a wonderful threat going forward. But, as a team, we have to work more on the final pass. We have the most number of crosses, so we are getting into the areas, but we just need that quality,” concluded Owen Coyle.
