The Spaniard spoke on the back of his side's convincing victory against Odisha FC.
In what is a sure sign of Bengaluru FC’s intent in the Indian Super League, the Blues battled it out to edge Odisha FC 2-1 in a competitive encounter in Goa. Goals from Sunil Chhetri and Cleiton Silva ensured that they condemned Stuart Baxter’s side to their fourth consecutive loss in as many games.
Reflections of the game
“It has been a very tough game and it was difficult to get three points. We had to get on new players due to tiredness and Ashique (Kuruniyan) got injured. But, I am happy to see that the squad were ready to help the team and it is normal that after 5-6 games, we have to make some changes to ensure that they help fight for three points,” remarked the head coach after the game.
“I think that Odisha is a good team and they are organized. It is difficult to get three points, especially when your dynamic is not very good now. They were really going for the game. In these kinds of games, if we do not get two goals we will be in trouble. Like we saw in their set-pieces, when they levelled through Steven Taylor who is a huge player. It was even more difficult for us given Ashique’s injury, but I am happy with the way the squad played today,” he went on to add.

Carles Cuadrat went on to reveal that Kuruniyan could have suffered a fracture in the bone on his face and went on to praise the Indian international as their best player till this point in the season.
Cleiton Silva's rise
The Spaniard was all praise for their new signing Cleiton Silva, who has now scored thrice for the Blues and adds a cutting edge to the Bengaluru attack, which needed refreshing after the last campaign. He also highlighted how the new players have settled into the system, despite a short pre-season.
“Cleiton has a lot of quality and makes clever decisions. We can use him as a No.9, No.10 or a winger. He is a player who is making an impact in the ISL. We are a solid and compact team. They know what they must do in different positions. The new players will take some time to adapt. They know the demands that we have from them,” said Carles Cuadrat.

Indian youngsters' contribution
The coach took time to praise the impact of the young Indian players in the squad, especially newcomer Amay Morajkar, who replaced Suresh Wangjam 10 minutes before time.
“Ashique and Suresh last season started off slowly, but they improved and they were able to help us a lot. The same goes in this season with Amay, who is improving his contributions on the pitch. I am also happy with the substitutions in defence and the options in attack, so we can compete well this season,” he added.

Carles Cuadrat concluded by praising his attackers, including talisman Sunil Chhetri who notched up 50 goal contributions in the ISL.
“I am very happy with the squad. Everyone is going to have an opportunity to play. You know that we have another game in just three days. Deshorn Brown gave an assist in a difficult situation. Congratulations to the team, as it was a very tough game,” signed off the Spaniard.
