Peter Hartley appointed Jamshedpur FC captain for ISL 2020-21 season
The midfielder joined the club from Motherwell in the summer .
Jamshedpur FC head Coach, Owen Coyle, confirmed the appointment of Peter Hartley as the club’s captain at a recent team meeting with the players and the staff at the club’s training ground in Sangolda, Goa.
“Peter Hartley is a born leader and has all the capabilities to lead the Jamshedpur FC squad. He is experienced, vocal and commanding on and off the pitch, and a great motivator. I am glad to have a captain like that in my squad,” said Owen Coyle.
The newly-appointed skipper is looking forward to taking charge as he said, “I am happy to have the confidence of the coach to lead the Jamshedpur FC squad. I will do my best to lead the club to win the ISL trophy and create history for Jamshedpur.”
Hartley made his professional debut in 2007 with Sunderland AFC, and has also represented Chesterfield FC, Hartlepool United, Stevenage, Plymouth Argyle, Bristol Rovers, Blackpool and Motherwell FC during his illustrious career. The 32-year-old Defender has led many of his previous sides as captain, and most recently with Motherwell where he led the team to the Europa League spot in the Scottish Premier League.
Jamshedpur FC play their first match of the ISL 2020-21 on 24th Nov against Chennaiyin FC.
