The SC East Bengal boss also revealed that he felt proud of his defenders.
In one of the highlights of their season, SC East Bengal drew with FC Goa in the Indian Super League on Wednesday evening. A wonderful goal by Bright Enobakhare and a equalizer by Devendra Murgaonkar saw the Gaurs share the spoils with the Kolkata giants. Following the match, the Red Gold boss Robbie Fowler spoke in the post-match press conference.
“I am massively proud of my defenders. I don’t think anyone can say anything with the way we played. We performed tonight in a tough game, which I don’t think we deserved to lose,” said Robbie Fowler.

Delightful Performance
The Englishman seemed to be satisfied with his team’s performance against FC Goa. “I am absolutely delighted. We played against a very good team and we probably lacked a little bit of possession, as we desired that," he said.
"But, we probably had the best chances. We were more clinical today and I think we were more comfortable offensively today," he felt.
“Our players were absolutely brilliant. Especially going down to ten men and keeping up the momentum is something I am delighted of,” the tactician continued.
SC East Bengal are here to challenge
Robbie Fowler revealed that he felt the Kolkata outfit have a good team and can challenge any side in the league.
“(SC East Bengal) have got the heart, the desire to play against and challenge anyone we come across. Tonight we showed up a good fight against a very good team,” he said.

Rotation is the right process
The SC East Bengal boss was asked regarding the changes that he made in the starting XI against FC Goa. Speaking about it, the 45-year-old suggested, “We had a lot of players who joined the pre-season pretty late and we have to look after them. I keep saying that we have been massively behind with respect to the preparations and physical fitness.”
“In a long tournament like this, players will get knocks and so we need to rotate the squad to keep ourselves ready. The players who played today performed with good character and thus we are on the right process,” Robbie Fowler concluded.
