Robbie Fowler provides important injury update on Anthony Pilkington
The Englishman insists his side to not be complacent against Kerala Blasters on Friday.
"We've always tried to progress as a team. We had a little bit tough start, but yes, we have started looking a bit fitter and as a better team. Credits to the boys who came in," said SC East Bengal tactician Robbie Fowler in his pre-match press conference ahead of their clash against Kerala Blasters FC in the Indian Super Legaue (ISL).
Good momentum but cannot afford getting carried away
Robbie Fowler continued to talk about his side's recent form and the momentum with which they face Kerala Blasters on Friday. "We're at a good level at the minute, but are not getting carried away. We have a lot of points left and a lot of tough games to face so we are trying to combat our oppositions and earn a good spot on the table." He further said, "Every single game is a tough game and we go out with the same mentality against every team. Kerala are a good team and we hope for a good game against them."
Injury update on Anthony Pilkington
Speaking about Anthony Pillkington's injury status, the Englishman said, "Pilks is at a better stage now, but we are not sure yet whether he is fit enough to be available for selection or not. He has played a lot of minutes even when he was not 100% percent as he wanted to do well for the club and the team. He has been outstanding from the very first day, an outstanding player on and off the pitch. But sometimes we need to warn him and keep him safe because we need him for the long-term."
Bright's influence
Further, Robbie Fowler agreed on the fact that Bright Enobakhare's arrival has changed things at the Red and Gold camp. "Let's be honest, his addition has definitely changed things in the campaign. It's the true nature of a great player. He makes people around him more comfortable and more confident, so yes he has solved a lot of odds for us," he said.
Targets
Quizzed about his targets for the league, the tactician told, "Obviously, we have a target and it is to keep things simple and continue with the game we are playing and continue with the winning momentum."
