The Islanders are now undefeated against the Mariners in four games.
Mumbai City FC steamrolled over Indian Super League (ISL) title rivals ATK Mohun Bagan, picking up a huge 5-1 win on Wednesday. The Islanders started in an emphatic fashion, rattling the Mariners with quick, incisive attacks.
In his first ISL start, Vikram Pratap Singh scored the opener – finishing off a clever swift break in the fourth minute. The Mumbai City star added another in controversial fashion in the 25th, with the ball hitting his hand before going into the net. Igor Angulo continued by scoring a tap-in in the 38th minute, giving Mumbai City FC a dominant lead against ATK Mohun Bagan.
After ATK Mohun Bagan's Deepak Tangri was given the marching orders early in the second half, Mumbai City added two more through Mourtada Fall (47 minutes) and Bipin Singh (52 minutes). David Williams pulled one back with an impressive strike in the hour mark, which proved to be a consolation in the embarrassing loss for the Mariners.
Let's find out how did the two sets of players performed on Wednesday night.

ATK Mohun Bagan (by Uttiyo Sarkar)
Amrinder Singh (GK) - 4.0
Nutmegged for the first goal. Kicked on the face for the second. Left stranded for the last three goals. Just not good enough.
Subasish Bose - 2.5
Out of his depth against the Islanders. Left Vikram unmarked for the first goal and let the ball deflect off him, which resulted in Angulo's goal. Couldn’t stop Mumbai’s attacks down his side and Colaco often had to cover for him.
Pritam Kotal - 3.5
Couldn’t act as a defensive leader at all. Left too much space for Mumbai to penetrate through, stuck too close to Manvir and made poor mistakes trying to cover for Singh.
Deepak Tangri - 2.0
Similar to Lenny Rodrigues, Deepak ran around without a cause. His overly aggressive style came back to haunt him, as he was sent off for a reckless challenge.
Lenny Rodrigues - 4.0
Ran ragged by Mumbai’s electric transitions. Unable to protect his backline from trouble and often cluelessly moved around without any intent. Gave away the ball, which led to the fifth goal.
Hugo Boumous - 3.0
A day to forget for Hugo against his former side. They nullified his threat, leaving him no space to threaten. Unable to create anything and looked extremely frustrated before being taken off.
Joni Kauko - 6.5
Probably the hungriest ATK Mohun Bagan player in the game. Carried the ball forward well, created some decent chances and used his physicality, energy levels to trouble Mumbai City. Set up Williams’ strike with a smart interception.
Manvir Singh - 4.5
Unusually quiet on the right. Couldn’t impose himself and missed a golden chance early in the first half.
Roy Krishna - 4.0
Mumbai City gave him absolutely no room to cause trouble. Bullied by physical tackles & couldn’t get past Fall. Created a few decent chances, but largely ineffective.
Liston Colaco - 5.0
Hardly got the ball enough to attack down the left. Troubled by Mumbai’s attacks through his wing and taken off at half-time.

Mumbai City FC (by Ujyant Ramesh)
Mohammad Nawaz (GK) - 6.0
Didn't really have much to do except for a punch early in the first half. Conceded a goal in the 60th minute. However, it was a moment of individual brilliance from David Williams.
Amey Ranawade - 7.5
Ranawade was great on the right flank. Won the most duels (8) and made some important interceptions to neutralize ATKMB’s attack.
Rahul Bheke - 7.0
Was the most accurate passer to play 45 minutes or more (93%). Made seven recoveries in the game.
Mourtada Fall - 6.0
Scored once in the 47th minute and assisted the third goal with a mistimed header which Igor Angulo easily put into the back of the nets. Had two shots with both on target and eventually ending up as goals.
Mandar Rao Desai - 6.5
Didn't really look great going forward. Could've made better runs into the far post. Regardless, he delivered a great cross to set up the third goal.
Cassinho - 7.5
Showed some brilliant skills in the midfield and has been one of the standout players right since the first game against FC Goa.
Lalengmawia - 7.0
Was clean with his distribution. Had some impressive close touches and set up multiple fast-breaks. Had a pass success rate of 90% with 65 accurate ones.
Ahmed Jahouh - 8.0
The set-piece maestro completed the most number of passes (75) in the match. Also got the assist for the fourth goal with Mourtada Fall heading his curler into the back of the nets.
Vikram Pratap Singh - 9.0
Scored a brace. Finished in a calm and composed manner from a tight angle off Bipin Singh’s cross to open the scoring for the first and stretched himself for the second one. Made some brilliant runs into the box but was stopped by Amrinder Singh a few times.
Bipin Singh - 8.5
An assist and a goal for the 26-year-old on Wednesday night. Was brilliant in his crossing as always and created four chances throughout the game.
Igor Angulo - 8.0
Angulo was the main man for Mumbai City FC being marked during Vikram’s goal leading to a clear through ball to set up the goal. Had some half chances early on and finally made his mark with a tap-in in the 38th minute.
