Ratings: Siverio shines Vs Bengaluru FC as Hyderabad FC stay at summit
(Courtesy : ISL Media)
This was the Blues' first loss in 10 games.
Earlier on Friday, Bengaluru FC clashed with Hyderabad FC in a high-intensity battle. Continuing their form this season, Hyderabad took home all three points in the end. While for the Blues, it was a missed opportunity to seal their position at the top.
It began with an early 16th minute goal by Javier Siverio, followed by a stunner from skipper Joav Victor in the 30th for the Nizams. This saw them go into the lead at half-time. A similar trend of attacking pressure continued in the second half too, but BFC looked slightly better — as they also scored a late goal in the 87th minute. However, it wasn't enough for a point.
On that note, here are the ratings for this game:
Bengaluru FC (by Ujyant Ramesh)
Gurpreet Singh Sandhu - 5.5
Though not entirely his fault, he could've done better with his hands to stop Javier Siverio's opener in the 15th minute. Overall, out of three shots faced, he was only able to save one.
Parag Shrivas - 5.0
Struggled to keep up with as well as mark Rohit Danu throughout, especially in the build-up for the first goal for Hyderabad . As a result, he was replaced by Namgyal Bhutia at half-time.
Pratik Chaudhari - 5.5
Had a passing accuracy of 80% from his 49 passes made. Apart from that, he did make some recoveries as a centre-back alongside Alan Costa.
However, like most of his defensive peers, he didn't have a great outing either and was substituted by Yaya Banana late in the game.
Alan Costa - 6.0
The 31-year-old completed the most passes in the match (66). Although he did struggle to get his head to intercept the first goal, later on he did make multiple recoveries and won seven aerial duels.
Roshan Singh - 6.5
Not his best performance tonight. Initially, in the moment of a scramble inside the box, he was the final player to be beaten before Siverio's finish to open the scoring.
Also picked up yet another yellow card that sees him suspended for the next game. However, he did try his luck with some set-pieces, long-rangers and other clean tackles, apart from the one that got him booked.
Suresh Wangjam - 6.5
Was the best player for BFC in midfield. Was clean with his distribution, had some close touches and swung some balls into the box as well, thereby setting up quite a few attacks.
Bruno Ramires - 6.5
Though not as impactful as the previous few games, the Brazilian decently performed his defensive role in midfield with four recoveries, some important interceptions and an 80% passing accuracy.
Danish Farooq - 5.5
The 25-year-old too didn't have a great game. Apart from one chance create via a through ball in the 38th minute to Prince Ibara
Sunil Chhetri - 7.5
The skipper tried his luck with headers throughout the game — either to score off set-pieces or to simply setup attacks, but in vain. However, he finally scored BFC’s only goal late in the 87th minute.
Prince Ibara - 5.5
Simply put, tonight was an example of the Congolese striker's weaknesses — poor dribbling, average passing and at times isolation when the game wasn't in Bengaluru FC's control against Hyderabad FC.
Cleiton Silva - 6.0
Took a solid curling free-kick from the left in the 53rd minute, however, it was well saved by Kattimani. Apart from that, the Brazilian set up Bengaluru FC's goal against Hyderabad FC via his pass to Udanta Singh in the 86th minute.
Substitutes
Namgyal Bhutia - 6.5
Came on in place of Parag Shrivas at half-time. Tried his luck with crosses in the 62nd and 73rd minute, but was intercepted by Kattimani and over-hit by Cleiton Silva for the second.
Regardless, he was a breath of fresh air in the right-back position, after replacing Parag who had a forgettable night.
Udanta Singh - 6.5
Replaced Danish Farooq in the 59th minute. Assisted Chhetri late in the game in the 86th minute.
Iman Basafa - 6.5
Was substituted for Bruno Ramires in the 79th minute. Had a passing accuracy of 93% with his 15 passes, while on the pitch. Also made some headed clearances and recoveries in between.
Bidyashagar Singh - N/A
Come on as a late substitution for Ibara in the 85th minute
Yaya Banan - N/A
The Cameroonian made his ISL debut, as he came on as a late substitution for Pratik Chaudhari.
Hyderabad FC (by Waseem Zaidi)
Laxmikant Kattimani - 6.5
The Hyderabad FC custodian was relatively comfortable in his area against Bengaluru FC. His defenders did well to block most of the chances coming his way, apart from the late goal from Chhetri. Kattimani deserved a clean-sheet, but walked away empty-handed.
Nim Dorjee Tamang - 7.0
Nim Dorjee was strong on the right, coming up against the likes of Roshan Singh. He was filling in for Asish Rai, who did not play today and did well to contribute in attack as well.
Chinglensana Singh - 7.0
The centre-back was particularly comfortable while in possession of the ball. His distribution from the back was noteworthy. A moment of confusion saw him leave Chhetri unmarked inside the box, that led to the only goal for BFC.
Juanan - 7.5
The Spaniard was a rock for HFC, which has been a usual characteristic of his performances this season. He made three clearances and as many blocks in addition to two interceptions. A clean-sheet was fully deserved, but the defender will take away positives from the match.
Akash Mishra - 7.5
The left-back worked extremely hard, keeping up with the pacy and strong Prince Ibara. A brilliant defensive performance saw him make four clearances, four as many tackles and three interceptions. A clean-sheet would have been the cherry on top.
Sauvik Chakrabarti - 7.5
The central midfielder had a busy night and came away with an assist from the match. He also had three interceptions in his 65-minute long performance and created two overall scoring chances.
Joao Victor - 8.5
The skipper was in exceptional form against the Blues. He managed his fourth goal of the season with a precise finish, adding to the goal from Siverio in the first half.
Nikhil Poojary - 5.5
Nikhil Poojary did not enjoy his evening against BFC in a quiet performance. He did not create enough opportunities, as he made zero crosses in the match.
Most of the Hyderabad FC gameplay against Bengaluru FC came from the left wing and Poojary was left to track back in order to contain an in-form Roshan Singh.
Bartholomew Ogbeche - 7.0
The Nigerian played a supporting role for Hyderabad FC at the beginning of the match against Bengaluru to divert attention from Siverio, who eventually got the first goal.
Ogbeche created three scoring chances and completed 22 of his 29 passes from the game. Surprisingly, he did not get a shot on target, but was brilliant in getting his teammates involved in the attack.
Rohit Danu - 8.0
Rohit Danu justified his selection by delivering one of his best performances on the left wing. While he did not score, Danu was a major factor in the first goal and contributed with four crosses. He had an 81% passing accuracy and also got a shot on target.
Javier Siverio - 8.5
The young Spaniard was leading the forward line instead of Ogbeche, who was playing in a No.10 role. He scored the first goal for HFC with a powerful strike from inside the box and caused a lot of trouble to the BFC defence. He left the pitch in the 70th minute after a masterful performance.
Substitutes
Sahil Tavora - 5.5
The central midfielder came on for Sauvik Chakrabarti in the second half. He had eight touches on the ball and took a shot which went off target.
Yasir Mohammad - 5.5
The winger made another appearance from the bench in order to add more energy to the attack. He had nine touches in 18 minutes of game-time and could not create a lot of chances to score.
Joel Chianese - 6.0
The Australian made an appearance from the bench and was a threat from corners in the second half. While he got only six touches on the ball, Chianese could have scored a third, but had his shot saved by Gurpreet in a one-on-one situation.
Aaren D’Silva - N/A
Came on in the final stages of the match.
