The Blues now rank eighth with 10 points in 10 games
Bengaluru FC earned yet another draw, this time against last-placed SC East Bengal. In other words, this is their third draw in four games -- and they now head into a week's break before commencing their reverse fixtures. Speaking of today's events, it began with a goal by former Blue Thongkhosiem Haokip in the 28th minute. This was then followed by an own-goal by Sourav Das in the 55th minute from Naorem Roshan Singh's cross.
In terms of tactics though, things did look a bit confusing, with constant fluctuations from three to four at the back -- at least in the first half. But then, two important substitutions in the second half, reverting to four and reviving Sunil Chhetri led to much better gameplay and chances for Marco Pezzaiuoli and his boys. However, sloppy finishing and overall play inside the final third retained the deadlock -- eventually ending the game in a draw.
After this result, head coach Pezzaiuoli spoke at the post-match press conference.

On losing two vital points
First up, the tactician was asked about his feelings on the result. That is if he was disappointed about dropping two important points against SC East Bengal. On this, he expressed, "Of course, we lost two clear points. We played against a team that was defending very deep and that's usually very difficult.
"It's very important not to concede an early goal, but we conceded and this made it more difficult. But, we came back again, as we played very well in the second half. We ran on one goal but we didn't score."
Reason for draw
Next, Marco Pezzaiuoli was questioned on his side's failure to carry forward momentum from the win against Chennaiyin FC. Answering this, he stated, "I think we made one mistake -- it was the set-pieces. That's why it brings out (we were) bad and in 90 minutes we only scored one goal.
"Sometimes, you need to have luck inside the box to score goals and we didn't have enough luck to score one goal more than the opponent to get three points."

Conversation with Sunil Chhetri
Further, the 53-year-old elaborated on what looked like a heated discussion between himself and Sunil Chhetri at the touchline. "(The conversation) with Sunil was to invest more without the ball. When you're only standing, it's very easy for the opponent to defend.
"When you have movement in the attack, you also create more chances. That's what I wanted from him," he said, referring to that noticeable conversation during the water break.

Potential return of Sunil Chhetri to starting XI
Finally, Marco Pezzaiuoli was questioned on the duration it would take before getting Sunil Chhetri back to the starting lineup. He quipped, "This I don't know. I don't want to talk about Sunil. We lost two points and it's a team thing. Sunil is one of our team, but he is still an important player. It depends on the situation -- how we want to play.
"Today as well, I was thinking of him as a starting member, but then I needed to bring maybe Cleiton (Silva), Ashique (Kuruniyan), Udanta (Singh) or Prince (Ibara) outside, who did well in the last game. That's why I didn't see the issue (reason) to change. But, when he came inside, like the last game, he used all his energy for the team. Also, he brought a really good chance to score in the second half," he thereby concluding the press conference.
