The tactician also reiterated that his side's next opponents deserved to win the previous game.

Following a defeat in their previous game, Bengaluru FC will face Kerala Blasters in Indian Super League (ISL) at the GMC Athletic Stadium on Sunday, November 28. Both sides have had mixed results in their respective campaigns so far. However, this particular clash should be a spectacle to watch considering their rivalry that they have built over the years. As a result, there will be a lot of emotions riding on the result, as always. Ahead of the game, Bengaluru FC head coach Marco Pezzaiuoli interacted in the pre-match press conference.

Reflections on previous game

The Bengaluru FC boss cleared the air around defensive mistakes committed against Odisha FC. While there were talks on the side's defensive lapses during the loss, Marco Pezzaiuoli talked about his approach and thoughts on the same.

"In terms of defensive mistakes — I think in life, we all make mistakes. But what we saw were individual mistakes and not a mistake of our defence. I think the second game was good, we dominated the game but we made those mistakes and that's what cost us. I choose to see the glass half full and not half empty," he explained.

"The defence work was good almost throughout the game. The first one was an individual mistake, 99% of the time Gurpreet (Singh Sandhu) will get that right and the ball goes away. Udanta (Singh) may not have made that pass otherwise, and the third goal was when we pushed forward. It was not a bad game. It was a good game. We had the better ball possession and we dominated the game. Individual mistakes happened, and that's part of the game sometimes," he elaborated.

Team News

As of the last game, it was reported that Leon Augustine's situation was subject to MRI reports. Afterwards, Jayesh Rane was subbed off on the 42nd minute following an aerial clash.

"Leon will not be available until the end of December. He may be out for five or six weeks, we hope to have him back in January," the tactician revealed.

"Jayesh will also not be available, because he blacked out in the game. We need to bring him back slowly, and the next game is too early.

"There's been some players with stomach bugs, some players have fevers, and some others are feeling well. We want to see who's fit and who's available for tomorrow's game," Marco Pezzaiuoli shared.

On facing Kerala Blasters

Marco Pezzaiuoli made some observations from a tactical perspective while answering about his thoughts on Kerala Blasters and Ivan Vukomanovic. "I think it will be a tough game, and I believe they deserved to win the last game. They play 4-4-2 or 4-2-3-1 and try to press high. They're good in the duels which means we need to be really sharp in that area while trying to play the game," he opined.

A sense of rivalry has come up in the minds of the Bengaluru FC and Kerala Blasters fans in the recent seasons and the 53-year-old expressed his thoughts on it. He mandated that it was important to be equipped with historical and traditional knowledge.

"It will be a tough game, with a lot of duels. But we need to play our football. I know what this means to the supporters, I've heard about the tradition of this game in the past," he concluded.
