The tactician spoke after a well-fought draw with the Marina Machans.
Hyderabad FC’s recent Indian Super League clash with Chennaiyin FC ended in a 1-1 stalemate at the PJN Stadium in Fatorda. The draw sees the Nizams rise to third place in the league table, with 17 points from 11 fixtures. Goals from Sajid Dhot and Javier Siverio were enough to share the points. Manolo Marquez was visibly frustrated with his team’s finishing in the match.
The outfit created several chances but could not capitalize on them. The absence of inspirational striker Bartholomew Ogbeche due to suspension was also detrimental to HFC’s plans.
Marquez talked about Siverio’s performance, options in midfield and more. Here is what the Spaniard had to say after the match during the post-match press conference:

On lack of clean-sheets
Hyderabad FC have not kept a clean-sheet in the last seven ISL matches. Speaking on this concerning stat and what can be done to change it, the tactician said, “We are the team with the least goals conceded in the league. Sorry, next question.”
An abundance of options in left midfield
Talking about Aniket Jadhav, the multiple options in that position and how he balances game-time amongst these players, Marquez said, “Aniket Jadhav had some problems in his hamstring in the last minutes. Even the other day against Kerala and today again, he has problems in finishing the games.
"In his position, we had the option to use Seityasen (Singh), Yasir (Mohammad), Aaren (D'Silva) or ((Rohit) Danu. If I pick one player you will ask about another. This is normal in football.”
A show of character
The Spanish head coach put emphasis on the character of his men during the post-match interaction. He said, “This game shows the character of the team. In some moments we played very good, created clear chances.

"In other moments, the other team created clear chances but the team showed good character, which is very difficult to train. Not the foreigners but the Indian players, they are very young and in some moments we played very good and in some, very bad.”
Praise for Javier Siverio
Manolo Marquez relied on the 24-year-old striker in the absence of Bartholomew Ogbeche who was unavailable. Speaking in the context of the young Spaniard’s performance, the boss said, “Javi Siverio for me was the Hero of the Match.
"He was the best player in our team. Maybe, it would be now better to play both (Siverio and Ogbeche) together. We have to change the system or not, but Javi played very well. I did not miss Bart in the game.”
