The win take the defending hampions to fourth place.
FC Goa locked horns with Mumbai City FC at the Athletic Stadium in Bambolim. The match ended 2-0 in favour of the Islanders. The first goal came in the 35th minute from Mehtab Singh. Notably, this was the lad’s first Indian Super League goal. The second goal came in the 86th minute from Diego Mauricio after the FC Goa defence committed a terrible howler.
The victory took Mumbai City to the fourth position, while FC Goa, after their ninth loss of the season, remained on ninth. Mumbai are now a point clear of Kerala Blasters at fifth after 18 games. Both teams face each other next in a virtual semi-final clash.
On that note, let’s have a look at the player ratings for tonight’s match.
FC Goa (by Sattyik Sarkar)
Naveen Kumar – 5.5
A decent performance was witnessed from Kumar. He really didn’t have much to do regarding the first goal. However, he could have done better for the second goal.
Seriton Fernandes – 6.5
Fernandes looked very active on the right flank. Notably, he made more than five crosses this evening. However, most of them lacked accuracy.
Dylan Fox – 6.0
Fox’s performance was better than his previous appearance. He successfully won both the solitary aerial and ground duel.
Ivan Gonzalez – 7.0
Gonzalez missed a golden chance to score in the second half. Defensively, he won six of the seven ground duels and four of the six aerial ones. He received a yellow card in the first half for arguing with the referee.
Aibanbha Dohling – 6.0
Dohling started as a left-back but after Fox was substituted, he shifted to the centre-back position. He made seven clearances this evening.

Makan Winkle Chothe – 6.5
Chothe operated successfully on the left flank. He was successful in delivering a key pass this evening. Additionally, he also registered a shot on target.
Princeton Rebello – 6.0
Rebello wasn’t at his usual best and was subbed off in the second half. He enjoyed a passing accuracy of 80% in the match. Notably, five of his eight long balls were accurate.
Alberto Noguera – 5.5
Noguera was off-colour tonight. He operated in a deeper role in this match. He delivered two key passes this evening. Earned a needless booking for arguing with the referee.
Alexander Romario Jesuraj – 6.5
Jesuraj missed a glorious chance very early in the game. If the ball had made a better connection with his head, the scoreline could have read 1-0 in favour of FC Goa.
Devendra Murgaonkar – 6.5
Murgaonkar showed trickery once in the second half. In the first half, he almost scored for his team, but unfortunately, the ball hit Mehtab Singh’s foot and went into the hands of Mumbai City goalkeeper Mohammad Nawaz.
Airam Cabrera – 5.0
Cabrera earned a penalty in the first half and could have put FC Goa in front. But unfortunately, he missed the chance from the spot. Again, in the first half, he missed a sitter from inside the penalty box, when he shot the ball into the hands of Nawaz.

Jorge Ortiz – 6.0
Ortiz came on in the 65th minute. He was successful in one of the two dribbling attempts.
Sanson Pereira – 5.5

Nongdamba Naorem – 5.5
Naorem was brought in in the 70th minute. He delivered an accurate cross during his stay.
Muhammed Nemil – 5.0
Not much was seen from Nemil who came on in the 81st minute. He was able to win a ground duel. Also, Nemil was fouled once during his stay.
Brison Fernandes - 5.0
Similar to Nemil, Fernandes too didn’t have much in his cavalry, as he too came on very late in the game on the 81st minute. He registered a shot, but that went off target. His solitary long ball successfully reached his teammate.
Mumbai City FC (by Riddhiman Sarkar)
Mohammad Nawaz - 7.5
Made a silly blunder in the first half that saw him go into the book and concede a penalty. Redeemed himself shortly afterward by denying Airam Cabrera from the resultant spot-kick. The Mumbai City Made three saves in total to keep the clean-sheet intact.
Rahul Bheke - 6.5
Won only two out of his five ground duels, as he lost both of his aerial duels and picked up a yellow card. Could have been more involved in attack, as he attempted only one cross throughout the game.

Mourtada Fall - 7.0
The imposing captain made quite a few vital interceptions to prevent the likes of Airam Cabrera and Jorge Ortiz from picking up the scraps. Made a whopping 10 clearances and won all six of his aerial duels.
Mehtab Singh - 7.5
Went from strength to strength, as he capped off his solid display at the heart of the defence with a goal from a set-piece. He also won his only aerial duel and won two out of his three ground duels.
Vignesh Dakshinamurthy- 6.5
Looked a little off his stride but was reliable anyway. Won both of his aerial duels and made four interceptions
Lalengmawia - 7.0
Played the dual role of midfield conductor and destroyer, as he built attacks and obstructed them with identical precision. Completed 73% of his passes and won four out of seven ground duels.
Brad Inman - 6.5
The midfielder was not exactly penetrative in his passing, as only 69% of his passes were completed. Won two out of four ground duels, but bowed out of action to give way to a more natural No. 6 in Vinit Rai at half-time.
Bipin Singh - 6.5
Got 37 touches on the ball, but was not much of a threat in attack. His work-rate, however, was commendable as he helped out Vignesh on quite a few occasions and even won two out of his five ground duels.

Cassinho - 7.0
Expertly picked out Mehtab Singh from a free-kick to give the Islanders the lead. Looked to get on the end of things more often than usual, as he hit the bar from a gilt-edged chance. Got 42 touches on the ball, as he was brought off for Raynier Fernandes in the 83rd minute.
Lallianzuala Chhangte - 6
Unusually quiet night out for the rapid winger, as he only got on the ball 22 times and completed one out of his two take-ons. Almost got an assist when Cassinho collected his pass and hit the bar, but was subbed off for Diego Mauricio in the 58th minute.
Igor Angulo - 6.5
