Two back-to-back wins
With this victory over Bengaluru FC, the Gaurs have now won two games in a row. When asked to describe the game, the tactician began, “I think in the first half the team was good. We performed well. we had chances. We were better in positional attack and positional defence.
He added, “After 1-1, it became difficult for the team. When the second half started, the team was not good in confidence. After the red card, the team was in a very difficult situation, but they changed the score because they had a good spirit and character.
“I’m very happy for the players, not only those in the lineup but also those in the reserve bench because they supported the team a lot. After 2-1, the team put a lot of attention in defence and worked very well. At the end, they got three points and I am very happy about this,” he opined.
Aspects where FC Goa need to improve
Though they have won another game, there are a few aspects in which FC Goa can improve. When asked about the areas of improvement, the coach asserted, “Of course, in transitions. Transitions are very important in football. When our style is to play attacking football, it is very important to control the transitions.

"Sometimes, we make mistakes because our focus is not primarily in pressing. Sometimes because the secondary press is not good and not timely. These are the problems. It’s not so easy. These problems exist in high level in European Champions League. Imagine in this case in our team.”
Set-piece was pre-trained?
FC Goa converted a goal from a set-piece today and also conceded one from a free-kick too. Young goalkeeper Dheeraj Singh Moirangthem would have gone through a tough night, if the odds wouldn’t have gone in favour of the Gaurs. When asked if the set-piece which led to the goal was practiced beforehand during training sessions, Juan Ferrando stated, “Yes, of course. We practice all the time. Dheeraj had a difficult moment once, but we support him. I trust 100% in him. Also, in Naveen (Kumar) and Hrithik (Tiwari).
“But for me, no worries about Dheeraj because he is just 21-years-old. He is the future keeper of Indian national team and he will continue to get more chances and continue working,” added the 40-year-old.
