The East Bengal coach praised the overall efforts of his side
SC East Bengal's winless run in the Indian Super League stretched to 12 games, as the Red and Gold once again settled for a 1-1 draw against Hyderabad FC. But, Manolo Diaz's men gave a good account of themselves, as they dug deep to get a point off the Nizams.
It was SC East Bengal, who took the lead on the night through a delightful free-kick from Amir Dervisevic. But, Bartholomew Ogbeche equalized with his sixth goal of this season 10 minutes before half-time. Despite both teams pushing and prodding, neither could get the decisive goal on the night. It was a tale of two ideologies, as Hyderabad were wasteful with their chances, while SC East Bengal tucked in to frustrate them and get a point on the night.
SC East Bengal head coach Manolo Diaz answered questions from the media post his side's result in Bambolim.
Thoughts on the result
As mentioned, SC East Bengal gave a great defensive performance to get a point. They perhaps deserved a win for their work-rate and for the chances they created in the first half.
Despite the result, head coach Manolo Diaz praised his boys' efforts on the night. "We want to win every match. Hyderabad are a very good team and I think we did a good job. We scored a goal and one of our shots hit the crossbar. We should have made it 0-2 in the first half, but we didn't take our chances. They scored from a cross and punished us. But, I'm happy with the job done by my team," said the Spaniard.

Positives from the game
Despite the result, head coach Manolo Diaz highlighted positives to take from the game. His side's defensive performance would've surely delighted him. The coach though would want his attack to hit their straps once again.
"The players worked very hard and did a good job. I want them to work every day to keep improving our levels in every match. We have drawn four games this season, but in each game like today, the players have done very well. We know we have made some mistakes, which the opposition have taken advantage of and in the next games we want to reduce this," the coach concluded.
