The victory took the Mariners into the top four.
ATK Mohun Bagan recorded a crucial 2-1 win over league leaders Hyderabad FC in the Indian Super League 2021-22 fixture. Goals from Liston Colaco and Manvir Singh handed Juan Ferrando's men all three points. Joel Chianese scored a consolation for the Nizams, as the side succumbed to a third defeat of the season.
The game was a close contest, with several notable individual performances. There were many moments that were defined by brilliance and mistakes by key players. Looking back at the fixture that held a lot of importance in the race for the top four places, here are the player ratings from ATK Mohun Bagan's close win against Hyderabad FC.
Hyderabad FC (by Waseem Zaidi)
Laxmikant Kattimani (GK) - 6.5
The custodian made a few crucial saves in the first half that helped Hyderabad FC keep the scores level. Kattimani was not helped by the defence on both occasions, where they were out of position, allowing a lot of space for the attackers to score. Overall, the Hyderabad FC goalkeeper made four saves, limiting ATK Mohun Bagan to only two goals.
Asish Rai - 6.0
Rai has been one of the most consistent performers this season, but was caught out of position for the goal scored by Colaco. He also played Manvir Singh onside for the second goal and could not cause a lot of problems in the attacking third with his deliveries. Rai also earned a booking during the match ruling him out from the next game.
Chinglensana Singh - 5.5
The centre-back came back into the starting lineup after missing the last two matches. Sana could not do enough on both occasions that Hyderabad FC conceded, after finding himself outnumbered. Singh was caught out of position several times.
Juanan - 5.0
Juan led the backline by example, but could not do much on the occasions his team conceded the goals. He did try to put pressure in set-piece situations while the team was in search of goals. The Spanish centre-back made a few key clearances to keep his team in the match.
Akash Mishra - 5.0
The Hyderabad FC full-backs had a tough game, with Colaco and Manvir both finding their names on the scoresheet. Mishra had a hard time with the speedy and physical figure of Manvir Singh, who found room behind him for the second goal. He made five interceptions and three clearances on top of making three crosses.

Joao Victor - 6.5
The skipper played a major role in Hyderabad FC’s goal, as his shot was parried away by Amrinder, which led to Chianese scoring from the second attempt. He was taken off in the second half, as the team needed more attacking options upfront. Victor had a 96% passing accuracy in a solid display.
Souvik Chakrabarti - 5.0
Souvik struggled to find his feet in midfield, which was dominated by the ATK Mohun Bagan players. He had a passing percentage of 64% and contributed in defence with one tackle, interception and block each. The tactician took him off around the hour mark for a fresher pair of legs.
Nikhil Poojary - 6.5
The right-winger played 45 minutes and did not turn out for the second half. He was a thorn on the flanks for the duration he was on the pitch, delivering two crosses and creating one scoring chance.
Aniket Jadhav - 6.0
Aniket Jadhav also played only 45 minutes of the match, as the manager made half-time changes. The left-winger took two shots on goal and one of them was blocked by a last-ditch tackle. He made two crosses as well, but could not create enough scoring chances.
Joel Chianese - 7.0
The attacking midfielder had a quiet first half, but he made an impact in the second, after opening the scoring for his team. The Australian scored from a rebound, showing good opportunistic instincts. He was also a threat with corner deliveries. Edu Garcia replaced Chianese in the latter stages of the match.
Bartholomew Ogbeche - 6.0
Ogbeche was the subject of tight marking from the ATK Mohun Bagan defence. His shot in the first half was cleared off the line by Subhasish Bose and one of his headers went off target in the second. All in all, the Nigerian had only two shots on an extremely quiet night.

Substitutes
Rohit Danu - 6.5
Rohit Danu came on as a half-time substitute and almost made an instant impact, as he had a volley hit the underside of the crossbar, but did not cross the line before coming out. He was on the end of several scoring chances and should have scored at least two goals, if the finishing was more clinical.
Yasir Mohammad - 5.0
Came on from the bench at half-time, but did not make any real contribution. He was at fault for the second goal after losing his marker Manvir Singh, who went on to score.
Sahil Tavora - 5.5
Making another appearance from the bench, the midfielder received a yellow card and could not create scoring chances for the forwards.
Javier Siverio - 5.5
Javier Siverio came on in the second half to aid his team in chasing the two-goal deficit. The Spaniard had only three touches in his 15-minute cameo.
Edu Garcia - 6.0
Replaced Chianese in the final stages in order to find the equalizer. He took two corners and delivered a cross, but to no avail, as his team could not score in the end.
ATK Mohun Bagan (by Uttiyo Sarkar)
Amrinder Singh – 6.5
Singh made a few nice saves, but parried a long-range effort straight to Chianese for his goal. Played on with a knock towards the end, but stayed strong to ensure his side got the win.
Prabir Das – 6.0
Das was a really proactive figure on the right, keeping Aniket Jadhav relatively quiet and making crunching challenges. His aggressiveness nearly got him sent off in the second half.

Pritam Kotal – 6.5
Kotal recovered well from last game’s nightmare, being more composed at the back. The ATK Mohun Bagan skipper came up with some vital blocks to deny Hyderabad FC big chances.
Tiri – 8.0
Tiri did a commendable job against Ogbeche, keeping him relatively quiet all game. Acted as ATK Mohun Bagan’s defensive leader, leaping into crucial challenges. Made six interceptions, as many clearances and two tackles to frustrate the ISL top scorers.
Subhasish Bose – 7.0
Subhasish dealt with the overwhelming pressure put by Hyderabad FC on his side commendably, maintaining composure at the back. Made three tackles, four clearances and five blocks – stopping the opponents’ flow down his side.
Carl McHugh – N/R
Energetic in the first half, but was subbed sometime before the break, after pulling his hamstring.
Lenny Rodrigues – 6.5
Lenny started his first game in a long time, but held the fort in midfield in a difficult clash. Shielded his backline well, closed down areas smartly and also moved things forward well – justifying his start in the big game.
Manvir Singh – 7.0
Manvir finally broke his 10-match goalless drought, scoring a smart strike by rounding the goalkeeper and putting the ball past two defenders. Moved the ball forward smartly and was more ruthless, finally seeing his hard work pay off.

Hugo Boumous – N/A
Started the game sharply and nearly got a goal early on, forcing a brilliant clutch save from Kattimani. But, an injury forced him to be subbed at the half-hour mark.
Liston Colaco – 7.0
Colaco tormented his former side with his fizzy dribbles down the left wing. Made a great run and finished off a superb counter-attack in deft fashion to lift his side. Surprisingly, missed two easy open-goal attempts towards the end. But, Liston’s movement and general link-up play was really impressive.
David Williams – 7.5
Williams played in a withdrawn role and setup the opener by superbly spotting Liston’s run with a fantastic long ball. Helped create some smart attacking moves with his link-up play and moved things forwardly efficiently.

Nassiri added a spark in the final third and setup two big goalscoring chances for Liston towards the end, only to see him fluff both. Should’ve had an assist after a bright outing.

Tangri ensured his side was able to see out the win and made some key challenges, including a goal-line block.
