The match saw a lot of noteworthy individual performances from both sides.

Hyderabad FC edged past a resilient FC Goa 3-2 in the Indian Super League to take it to 32 points in 17 encounters. The win saw the Nizams regain the top spot in the league table, overtaking ATK Mohun Bagan. Manolo Marquez's men delivered another valiant performance, thanks to Bartholomew Ogbeche, who scored a brace and Joao Victor, who scored from distance. The Nigerian forward became the all-time top scorer with 51 goals and broke his personal record with his 16th goal of the season.

As for Derrick Pereira's men, goals from Jorge Ortiz and Devendra Murgaonkar were only consolations in the end. The game was electrifying with several players delivering memorable performances. Hyderabad FC are now two points clear at the top with 32 points, while FC Goa remain at ninth.

Here is a look at the player ratings from both teams:

Hyderabad FC (by Waseem Zaidi)

Laxmikant Kattimani (GK) - 5.5

The custodian, who has otherwise been a consistent performer this season, shipped two goals on the night. He was left in a vulnerable position for the first goal but certainly could have done better while saving the header from Murgaonkar.

Asish Rai - 7.0

The right-back came back into the lineup after missing the previous fixture. He was ever-present on the right flank, contributing to attack and protecting the defence. The Hyderabad full-back got an assist for the opening goal and kept FC Goa wingers on the edge with another inspired performance.

Chinglensana Singh - 6.5

The HFC distribution from the back was led ably by Chinglensana Singh. The centre-back was also strong in the last stages of the match when his side needed to defend with their backs to the wall. While his overall performance was above average, the defender will look back at the first half with disappointment.

Juanan - 6.5

The Spaniard was the leading figure in Hyderabad FC’s backline. His command over the defence was crucial to ensure that the Nizams retained the slender lead when FC Goa were pushing for the third. He made six clearances and two interceptions in another assured performance.

Akash Mishra - 6.0

The left-back was busy as ever on the flanks. He did well in both attack and defence. Mishra made nine tackles, two interceptions and three blocks to keep his team ahead and secure three points.

Souvik Chakrabarti - 5.5

Souvik was replaced by Sahil Tavora on the hour mark, which has now become a usual change in each fixture by Marquez. Before his departure, Souvik attempted two shots and had a healthy 78% passing accuracy. The fact that he was on a yellow was another factor behind his substitution.

Joao Victor - 8.0

The skipper was exceptional for his team - yet again - in the middle of the park. He scored with a beautiful long ranger that ended up being the winner for his team. The midfielder had 41 touches on the ball and also made three interceptions.

Nikhil Poojary - 6.0

The winger on the right-flank had a quiet night compared to his standards with no shots on target or crosses for his teammates. However, he worked very hard while tracking back to provide cover to Asish. He was taken off late in the game for Yasir for a fresher pair of legs up front.

Rohit Danu - 5.5

The young winger was not as effective for Hyderabad FC on the night against Goa. He failed to take a shot and completed only eight passes in his time on the field. Rohit was replaced by Aniket Jadhav at the hour mark.

Joel Chianese - 5.5

The Australian was picked ahead of Siverio by the tactician and shifted in the No.10 role. He created one scoring chance but could not get a shot on target. He was substituted in the 89th minute and left the pitch with 87% passing accuracy.

Bartholomew Ogbeche - 9.0

The Nigerian scored a sensational brace in the first half which helped him overtake Bengaluru FC captain Sunil Chhetri as the all-time highest scorer in the ISL with 51 strikes. The 16th goal of his campaign means it is the best scoring season for the forward. He also provided an assist for the third goal, which was scored by Victor.

Substitutions

Aniket Jadhav - 6.0

The winger made an appearance from the bench, replacing Rohit Danu on the left flank. He had 14 touches on the ball and spent most of the time doing his defensive duties.

Sahil Tavora - 5.5

The midfielder made another appearance from the bench as he replaced Souvik, who was on a yellow card.

Javier Siverio - 6.0

The young Spaniard replaced Ogbeche to inject fresher legs on the pitch. He was crucial in pressing FC Goa defenders in order to prevent them from enjoying time on the ball and controlling the tempo.

Khassa Camara - N/A

The new signing made his debut to help the defence retain the slender lead in the final stages of the match.

Yasir Mohammad - N/A

The winger came on too late to make an impact.

FC Goa (by Sattyik Sarkar)

Dheeraj Singh Moirangthem – 5

It wasn’t Singh’s day at office. The lad conceded three goals in the match. The second goal however, can be stated as a howler committed by Singh.

Leander D’Cunha – 5.5

This was an audacious performance by D’Cunha. He wasn’t extremely impactful and was brave enough to attempt dribbles past Akash Mishra. Mishra was subsequently booked for obstructing his run.

Ivan Gonzalez – 6

He was good, but better performances can be expected from Gonzalez. He made a clearance and an interception on the night. However, he made a crucial block keeping the score respectable for his team.

Anwar Ali – 6

It wasn’t the best of performances from Ali. However, he won five out the six aerials duels in which he participated.

Saviour Gama – 5.5

Gama was substituted at half time. His stay on the pitch didn’t yield much. Notably, he registered a shot on target and made two interceptions.

Makan Winkle Chothe – 5

Chothe was substituted in the second half after a performance that didn’t catch the eye. Chothe went on to receive a yellow card as well and didn't leave an imprint on the game.

Edu Bedia – 5.5

It wasn’t the Spaniard's at the office. Bedia took a few long-range attempts, but didn't have any lasting impact on the scoresheet. However, Bedia was successful in delivering a few key passes. Apart from this, he was also booked by the referee.

Alberto Noguera – 7

Noguera has been the stand-out performer for FC Goa in this fixture. His beautiful through ball was successfully netted by Ortiz for Goa’s equalizer in the 34th minute. Noguera also registered a shot on target.

Princeton Rebello – 6

Rebello has been improving regularly. Tonight, all his six long balls were accurate. He orchestrated the play well in this encounter. Notably, he enjoyed a passing accuracy of 95%.

Brandon Fernandes – 6

Fernandes was substituted in the 81st minute. It was his cross from where Devendra headed the second for Goa. He won two out of the three aerial duels he participated in.

Jorge Ortiz – 7.5

Ortiz scored the equalizer in the 34th minute and was all over the pitch. The FC Goa forward was their best player on the pitch and there was also a moment where he had to be surrounded by three or four Hyderabad FC players, such is the danger he possesses.

Substitutes

Sanson Pereira – 6.5

It was an eye-catching performance from Pereira. He won three out of the four ground duels and two of the three aerial duels he wrestled in, without throwing away a foul. This, perhaps, was a superb move from boss Derrick Pereira.

Devendra Murgaonkar – 7

Murgaonkar scored FC Goa’s second goal this evening. He was fouled once in the match.

Nongdamba Naorem – 6

Naorem came on in the 74th minute in place of Princeton Rebello. He was successful in two of the three dribbling attempts. He also delivered a successful cross that warranted.

Muhammed Nemil – N/A

He did not leave a mark on the game.
