Both teams shared the spoils after an underwhelming performance.

Manuel Marquez's Hyderabad FC were held in a lacklustre 1-1 stalemate by Manolo Diaz's SC East Bengal in Indian Super League. The Red and Gold Brigade extended their winless run to 12 games overall and seven this season. Following the draw, Hyderabad FC rose to the second place in league standings.

Manolo Marquez's side looked like a pale shadow of themselves in the match. While Hyderabad FC struggled to create an opening, SC East Bengal took the lead through an Amir Dervisevic free-kick in the 20th minute. But the Nizams were back level 13 minutes later with Bartholomew Ogbeche heading home Aniket Jadhav's cross. The second half saw a lot of goalmouth action from both teams, however, their wastefulness up front did not change the scoreboard.

While some players shone thanks to their performance, there were many disappointed faces, who were unhappy with the result. Here is a look at the player ratings from the Hyderabad FC vs SC East Bengal match.

Hyderabad FC (by Waseem Zaidi)

Laxmikant Kattimani (GK) - 4.0

The custodian conceded a poor goal and should have done better setting up the wall in the set-piece situation. He needs to be more commanding inside the box.

Nikhil Poojary - 5.5

Playing in the right-back position in Asish Rai’s absence, Poojary was not as effective. He had only one cross attempt and no shots on target.

Chinglensana Singh - 6.5

Sana was at his usual self apart from the foul he made, which led to the goal from the opposition. He made three clearances and kept the opposition attackers from scoring a second on the night.

Joao Victor (C) - 6.5

The Hyderabad skipper played as a centre-back after Manuel Marquez made a string of changes to the lineup against SC East Bengal. Joao Victor had two successful tackles, three clearances and two interceptions during the game, putting in a decent performance.

Akash Mishra - 7.5

The left-back has been in a rich vein of form this season and showed glimpses of his prowess on the left flank. He was defensively solid and a constant threat in the attacking third. He had one shot attempts and delivered four crosses as well.

Edu Garcia - 6.0

The creative midfielder played a restricted role alongside Hitesh Sharma in midfield and did not have a good evening. He created only one scoring chance and did not make a single shot attempt. Garcia completed 40 of his 54 passes and was subbed in the second half.

Hitesh Sharma -  5.5

Hitesh Sharma’s pairing with Edu Garcia lacked chemistry. The midfielder made one interception, attempted four tackles, and had a 74% passing accuracy.

Aniket Jadhav - 7.5

The winger got the assist for the equaliser by delivering a pinpoint cross from the left flank. Making a total of 20 passes in the 83 minutes he played, the youngster had around 60% passing accuracy. He even registered two shots that were off the target.

Rohit Danu - 6.0

The youngster was substituted at the half time break. He had 23 touches on the ball and took one shot which went off target. Rohit Danu was lacking sharpness and could not deal with Hira Mondal’s energy.

Joel Chianese - 7.0

The Australian had a few good moments from the match. He played 61 minutes and had a shot on target as well. Javier Siverio replaced the forward, who could not affect the game in the second half.

Bartholomew Ogbeche

Bartholomew Ogbeche - 8.5

The striker scored his 41st goal in the ISL and sixth of the current campaign by heading in a cross from Jadhav. He looked hungry for more, but a lack of scoring opportunities did not help the Nigerian who had three shots on target.

Substitutes

Sahil Tavora - 7.0

Looked very positive after coming on from the bench. His long-range attempt almost caught SC East Bengal custodian Arindam Bhattacharya off-guard.

Javier Siverio - 6.0

The young Spaniard did not have enough opportunities after coming on as a substitute. He created one chance and had only 10 touches on the ball in 29 minutes of gametime.

Juanan - 5.0

The centre-back came off the bench in the match and got a yellow card for a poor challenge late in the game.

Aaren D’Silva - 5.5

The full-back made one block and attempted one cross in the 22 minutes of playing time from the bench.

Abdul Rabeeh- N/A

Came on too late to make an impact.

ISL 2021-22 M39 Highlights: Hyderabad FC Vs SC East Bengal

SC East Bengal (by Kaushik Vishwanath)

Arindam Bhattacharya (GK) - 7.0

The SC East Bengal skipper was busy on the night making some good saves but wasn’t tested heavily by the much-fabled Hyderabad attack. Nonetheless, he made three saves and clearances respectively to keep his team in the hunt, including a save of the last kick of the game from Ogbeche.

Joyner Lourenco - 7.0

He had the third-highest touches of any SC East Bengal player on the night (44). Completed 74% of his passes and three tackles on the night. Also completed two interceptions to cap a good night all-round.

Tomislav Mrcela - 8.0

Led his defence brilliantly along with Raju Gaikwad to get his side a deserved point on the night. Completed a monstrous 10 clearances and two interceptions.

Raju Gaikwad - 7.5

The defender was rather lucky not to concede a penalty towards the end of the first half despite coming off bloodied from it. But he gave a solid performance in defence. Completed 89% of his passes, the highest by any SC East Bengal player. He also made one successful tackle, six clearances and one interception which showcases the effort that he put in on the night. He was taken off in the 77th minute for Daniel Gomes.

Hira Mondal - 7.5

Gave his heart out on the pitch. Made the most touches by any East Bengal player (52), completed 50% of his passes. Won one successful tackle, made eight clearances and four successful interceptions.

Amarjit Singh Kiyam - 6.0

Had a busy day in midfield, completing four interceptions, two clearances and winning one tackle. He also completed 70% of his 20 attempted passes. He was taken off in the 64th minute for Semboi Haokip.

Mohammad Rafique - 8.5

Was by far the best player for SC East Bengal on the night. Almost got a goal through a sweet shot that hit the woodwork in the first half. He created two chances and covered the highest distance by any player on the night (9.4 kilometers).

Had the second-highest number of touches among SC East Bengal players (45) and completed 64% of his passes. Also contributed in his side’s stoic defence with three successful tackles, four clearances and two interceptions.

Sourav Das - 7.0

Covered the second-highest distance by any player on the night (9.1 km). Combined well in midfield with Mohammad Rafique. Won 100% of his tackles, made four clearances and five interceptions.

Amir Dervisevic - 7.0

Scored a delightful free-kick to give SC East Bengal the lead. But that was as good as it was for the midfielder. A 52% pass completion, a solitary clearance and two successful interceptions show the picture of a man, who gave a lot but couldn’t fill the void left in the absence of Antonio Perosevic.

Lalrinliana Hnamte - 7.5

He won the free-kick, which Amir Dervisevic converted to give SC East Bengal the lead. Did well on the defensive end. He completed three out of his four attempted tackles and also completed four interceptions. Didn’t have a lot to do on the ball though completing just over 53% of his 15 attempted passes.

Daniel Cheema Chukwu - 5.5

Did a good job of hassling the Hyderabad centre-backs. Had a couple of good chances to score a goal, but couldn’t find his finishing boots. Completed only 44% of his passes and both his shots were off target. He was taken off in the 64th minute.

Substitutes

Daniel Gomes - 5.5

Came on in the 77th minute for Raju Gaikwad. Didn’t have a lot to show in his 13-minute cameo other than six touches, three pass attempts, two successful passes and one clearance.

Wahengbam Luwang - 5.0

Came on as the final substitute for Dervisevic in the 80th minute. Didn’t contribute a lot and was isolated for the most part of his time on the pitch. He contributed just two passes in his 17 minutes on the pitch.

Naorem Mahesh Singh - 7.0

Came on in the 78th minute for Hnamte. Was booked in the 92nd minute for a clumsy challenge, but otherwise did a great job in defence to get a point for his side. Made five successful tackles and one interception within the 19 minutes that he was on the pitch.

Balwant Singh - 5.5

Came on in the 64th minute for Daniel Chukwu. Had a great chance to score the winner in the 83rd minute, but fluffed his header wide. Didn’t get a lot otherwise in attack as SC East Bengal settled for the draw rather than push upfront. He won both of his attempted tackles.

Thongkhosiem Haokip - 6.0

Came on in the 64th minute for Amarjit. Made some attempts to get his side on the attacking front, but was rather left isolated as SC East Bengal focused more on defence to get a point off the game.
