Kerala Blasters' Jorge Pereyra Diaz show caused for violent conduct

Kerala Blasters player Jorge Pereyra Diaz has been charged by the All India Football Federation (AIFF) Disciplinary Committee for 'violent conduct' in their Indian Super League (ISL) Match No. 66 against ATK Mohun Bagan on Saturday, February 19, 2022, at Tilak Maidan Stadium, Goa.
In the charge notice issued by the AIFF body, Pereyra Diaz has been indicted for violating Article 48.1.2 of the AIFF Disciplinary Code. It mentions the player 'broke the dugout panel, an act of violent conduct' therefore committing an offence.

Jorge Pereyra Diaz, who was substituted out in the 85th minute of the match was already on a caution. The Argentine was then shown a direct red card for his actions on the substitute bench.
As a result of his expulsion, Pereyra Diaz will serve an automatic one-match ban in Kerala Blasters FC's next assignment against Hyderabad FC later today.
The Committee has given time till February 24 for the player to submit a reply.

The Incident
It occurred in the final moments of the game against ATK Mohun Bagan after the latter equalised in a nervy 2-2 draw. Pereyra, who had already been substituted by then, got into a confrontation with the opposition bench and also smashed the dugout panel leading to him gettings sent-off. ATKMB assistant coach Bastob Roy was also sent-off in the aftermath of the incident.
In the match, Adrian Luna put Kerala Blasters ahead twice only for ATK Mohun Bagan to equalise on both occasions. David Williams and Joni Kauko scored the goals for the Mariners.

Kerala Blsters' Current Position
The Blasters are currently at fifth in the points table with 27 points from 16 games. They are one point behind the fourth-placed Mumbai City FC, who have also played a game more. A draw against Hyderabad FC later today will take Ivan Vukomanovic's men to fourth, but they would eye all three points against the league leaders. When both teams clash in the reverse fixture earlier this season, Kerala Blasters halted Hyderabad FC's eight-match unbeaten run with a 1-0 win. Since then, Manolo Marquez's men have lost only once and have won five games out of seven.
