Powered by the vcitory, the defending champions moved into the top four.

Mumbai City FC outplayed Odisha FC in a romping 4-1 win at the Fatorda Stadium on Sunday in the ISL 2021/22. The Juggernauts barely looked to threaten throughout the game, as the Islanders swept through their defence. The result saw Mumbai City climb to fourth place, as Odisha FC slipped down to seventh in the league.

Igor Angulo began the proceedings for Mumbai City with a clever header on the brink of half-time. The Islanders restarted the second half with another goal from Bipin Singh's rasping near post shot. Angulo's second of the match was a thing of beauty in the 70th minute and Bipin turned in Mumbai's fourth within the next three minutes. Jonathas de Jesus' well-placed finish in the 90th minute did little to reduce the arrears for Odisha FC.

With that in mind, let us take a look at the player ratings for the game:

Mumbai City FC 4-1 Odisha FC Match Highlights

Mumbai City FC (By Riddhiman Sarkar)

Mohammad Nawaz - 6.5

Relatively quieter evening for the Mumbai City goalkeeper than his Odisha FC counterpart, as he missed a clean-sheet by a whisker. Made two saves in the entirety of the match.

Rahul Bheke - 7.0

Looked penetrative while on the front foot, as he setup Angulo for the opener in the 41st minute with a sweet in-swinging cross. Won three out of his four aerial duels and was also alert in defence.

Mourtada Fall - 7.0

Towering presence from the captain. He snuffed out all danger and managed to clear it without hesitation. Made four clearances and blocked three shots.

Mehtab Singh - 7.0

Looked comfortable at the heart of defence, as he kept Odisha’s attackers at bay. Won both of his ground duels in the process.

Mandar Rao Dessai - 7.0

Vigilant defending from the senior Indian international. Blocked Aridai’s attempt expertly in one instance, as he was the last man in defence. Two tackles from the left-back and he won all of his ground duels.

Lalengmawia - 7.0

Scintillating in attack and defence, as he displayed maturity in cycling possession and building up attacks from scratch. Accumulated a whopping 88 touches on the ball.

Ahmed Jahouh - 7.5

The midfield maestro was back among the assists for Mumbai City, as he teed up Bipin Singh from a sudden counter in Odisha FC’s final third. Bowed out for Vinit Rai in the 86th minute, as he completed 83% of his passes and won five out of his 10 ground duels.

Lallianzuala Chhangte - 7.0

Active running and link-up play with Rahul Bheke from the young winger, as he started on the right flank. Left the field for Raynier Fernandes in the 87th minute, after completing 84% of his passes.

Cassinho - 7.0

Had the ball glued to his feet on multiple occasions, as he displayed his expertise in dribbling once more. Went off for Brad Inman in the 80th minute, after getting 64 touches on the ball.

Bipin Singh - 9.0

Finished emphatically as he wrong-footed Arshdeep and blasted a shot at the near post from Jahouh’s threaded pass. Turned provider for Angulo’s second, as he soared even higher with another goal a few minutes later. Gave way to Gurkirat Singh in the 86th minute

Igor Angulo - 8.5

Cleverly picked header from the Spaniard to get him back amongst the goals for the Islanders. Majestic second goal, as he feinted a shot, left Bora on the ground and finished with the outside of his left boot, all in one sweeping move. Substituted for Vikram Pratap Singh in the 80th minute, after getting three shots on goal.

Substitutes

Vikram Pratap Singh - 6.5

Bundles of energy from the winger once again for the short while he was on the pitch. Made one key pass.

Brad Inman - 6.5

Got 14 touches on the ball and accomplished 100% passing accuracy.

Gurkirat Singh- 6.5

Had a goalscoring chance with his first touch of the match, but couldn’t capitalize on it. Won his only ground duel of the match.

Raynier Fernandes- N/A

Only got 11 touches on the ball.

Vinit Rai- 6.5

Saw off the game with only eight touches to his name.

Odisha FC (By Abinash Sahu)

Arshdeep Singh - 4.5

The Odisha shot-stopper had a night he would like to erase from memory. Had some saves to make, but seemed clueless when the ambitious header from Igor Angulo was finding the back of the net. Then he conceded three more.

Lalruatthara - 5.5

He didn't hesitate to attempt risky take-ons and came out on top almost every single time. With a stellar display in the defensive third, he had a clear statement to make.

Hector Rodas - 6.0

The Spaniard was seen missing during some MCFC counter-attacks. However, he proved himself to be the tough player he is known to be. He was lacking the pace, but his resilience was appreciable.

Victor Mongil - 6.5

The skipper had his impact till the offensive half with his passing accuracy. But, he failed to exploit an acre-wide space while heading a corner, which would have changed the scoreline. He wasn't seen at his full potential during the second half, where his outfit conceded a bunch of goals. Also got a booking.

Sahil Panwar - 5.5

Motivated, energetic, tough yet falling short of Chhangte's wing attack. A cross from Bheke led to a goal, for which Sahil can't be blamed, but he could've had done better.

Thoiba Singh - 6.0

Went toe-to-toe with Javi in some passes and earned a couple of set-pieces for the black and purple. A crucial interception against Angulo snuffed out a potential threat. Still, he lacked the accuracy he is expected to have.

[KH_ADWORDS type="1" align="center"][/KH_ADWORDS]

Issac Vanmalsawma - 6.0

A number of key passes and an outstanding crossing precision. The 25-year-old was doing everything he is supposed to deliver. But, he was quite overshadowed by Jahouh in receiving aerial balls.

Jerry Mawihmingthanga - 7.0

Scorching shots at the goal, perfect presence in the opposition box and a formidable pace; Jerry was literally breathing fire in the first half, though some exceptional saves from Nawaz denied him a mention on the scoresheet.

Javi Hernandez - 6.5

The No. 10 of the Juggernauts justified his dead ball craft not once, not twice but every time he was on it.

Nandhakumar Sekar - 6.5

Despite a silly miss that would have been dangerous, Nandha was doing everything his tactician expects. He was literally overlapping every second ball on the left wing. His lethal crosses gave the islanders' defence a hard time.

Jonathas de Jesus - 7.5

Scored the only goal for his side and what a piece of art it was! Other than that, he finished a counter-attack straight into Nawaz's gloves, which could have been placed better.

Provided a beautiful back-heel, but Aridai hit the woodwork. With a 91% passing accuracy, he definitely deserved a better result tonight.

Substitutes

Aridai Cabrera - 5.0

Subbed on just after the half-time. Definitely made some progressive runs, but the Islanders' backline denied him. Missed some chances in the late minutes.

Gaurav Bora - 4.0

Replaced the big boots of Hector Rodas, but he wasn't able to keep things up, as two major slip-ups from him led to the second goals from Angulo and Bipin.

Redeem Tlang - 5.0

Had tremendous passing accuracy, but none of them bothered Mumbai City. Had few touches and was often seen lagging behind.

Hendry Antonay - 5.5

The 21-year-old made some clearances, but he was often outnumbered in the midfield by the opposition. His off-the-ball movement was not impressive.

Daniel Lalhimpuia - 4.5

Came on with just a quarter of an hour left. He was seen getting dispossessed a couple of times and didn't have a significant impact.
