The head coach shared an update on Khassa Camara and Gurjinder Singh.
NorthEast United were on the receiving end of 3-2 defeat against ATK Mohun Bagan. This was their fifth defeat of the campaign in eight matches. They started off well, but silly mistakes and individual brilliance from the Mariners saw the game slip through their hands.
VP Suhair broke the deadlock with not even two minutes on the clock, but the Mariners equalized at the stroke of half-time in Liston Colaco. ATK Mohun Bagan then went on to score two more in the second half, before Mashoor Shereef pulled one back for the Highlanders.
After the match, NorthEast United’s head coach Khalid Jamil spoke to the media:

Missed Chances
It would have been a completely different had NorthEast United converted their big chances. Sharing his thoughts on whether it could’ve been a different game if they converted their chances, Khalid said that his side did not do well and that’s why they lost.
“No, I don’t think so. We didn’t do well and that’s why we lost the match. It’s a simple thing,” he said.
Individual errors cost game?
It was a tale of individual brilliance and mistakes for either side. However, individual mistakes from the Highlanders resulted to be more expensive than that of the Mariners. Khalid Jamil said, “Yes, you can say that.
"Talking about the first goal we conceded, it was an individual error. In the second goal, we were out of shape and in the third goal, man-marking was not there. So, it cost us.”

New Signing
The head coach was quizzed about the possibility of signing a new centre-back in the January window. Khalid opened up and said, “We have to see. Only (Federico) Gallego replacement will be there, but we have to see.”
Update on Khassa Camara & Gurjinder Kumar
Gurjinder Kumar was to be taken off early in the first half due to an injury, followed by Khassa Camara in the second half. Sharing an update on his players, Khalid Jamil said, “We’ve to see. We hope it’s not serious.”
Importance of upcoming game
The Highlanders will face-off against the Islanders come December 27. A defeat means Khalid Jamil’s side will be desperate to bounce back. Sharing his views on this Khalid said, “Yes, we have to bounce back and think about the next game. This is the only solution.”
