The victory over the Highlanders on Tuesday night marked the Mariners' first win in five games.

What a game we’ve had here at the PJN Stadium in Fatorda! NorthEast United were handed their fifth defeat of the season by ATK Mohun Bagan. The Highlanders took the lead from a VP Suhair header in the second minute, but gave away their lead late in the first half.

From there on, it was an ATK Mohun Bagan show as Juan Ferrando clinched his first managerial victory for the Kolkata Giants. Although NorthEast United looked promising late in the second half, they had little to show for it.

Let's take a look at how the players from NorthEast United and ATK Mohun Bagan performed on Tuesday night.

NorthEast United FC (By Yash Pratap Singh)

Mirshad Michu (GK) - 6.5

The keeper pulled off some important saves and blocks, but his silly mistake cost NorthEast United their lead.

Provat Lakra - 5.5

The full-back had a decent shift throughout the first half. He also contributed in attack as well as the defence.

Hernan Santana - 7.0

The Spaniard was very much involved in NorthEast’s build-up play. He started the match at the back, but moved into the middle of the park as the game progressed. Santana also pulled off two clearances and five interceptions.

Patrick Flottmann - 6.5

Flottmann maintained a good passing accuracy of over 80%. Moreover, he made three clearances and four blocks.

Gurjinder Kumar - 6.0

Was solid defensively and won 100% of his ground duels. Unfortunately, his shift was cut short due to an early first-half injury.

Mathias Coureur - 6.5

The forward created two chances and provided the assist for his side’s opening goal. He also dropped deep to defend many times.

Khassa Camara - 7.0

The skipper held the midfield together and also came down to help the defenders. Camara also registered a passing accuracy of 86%.

Imran Khan - 7.5

He created a few chances, played three key passes and also completed the majority of his dribbles. Imran made important contributions in defence as well with four tackles.

Rochharzela - 6.0

Chhara was denied an opening from a long way out by the keeper. He completed 62% of his passes, troubled ATKMB’s defence a few times and made two clearances.

Lalkhawpuimawia - 5.5

He attempted three shots and missed a big chance. Mapuia won three of his seven aerial duels. But, it was his missed chances that cost NorthEast the game.

VP Suhair

VP Suhair - 7.5

Suhair opened the scoring with the fastest goal in NorthEast United’s history. He was decent with his passing and also tracked back to help out the defence.

Substitutes

Joe Zoherliana - 6.0

The full-back came on to replace Provat Lakra at the start of the second half. He played a key pass and was solid defensively as well.

Tondonba Singh - 5.0

He came on as an early first half substitute for Gurjinder Kumar. Tondonba made two clearances and also contributed in the attack. However, he was outpaced by Manvir on most occasions.

Laldanmawia Ralte - 5.5

Danmawia came on in the second half and replaced Rochharzela. He improved his passing game this time and also created a few chances.

Pragyan Sundar Gogoi - 4.5

The local lad replaced Khassa Camara, who had to be taken off due to an injury. Pragyan was precise with his passing and also put in three tackles.

Mashoor Shereef - 7.0

He made an instant impact after coming on. Mashoor scored his debut goal, but unfortunately it resulted in a losing cause.

ISL 2021-22 M37 Highlights: NorthEast United Vs ATK Mohun Bagan | Hindi

ATK Mohun Bagan (By Uttiyo Sarkar)

Amrinder Singh (GK) – 5.0

Amrinder let Suhair’s strike go past him too easily. Uncharacteristically shaky in goal on a few occasions, making poor errors. Yet to properly adapt to his new club.

Ashutosh Mehta – 6.5

The right-back recovered well from last game’s debacle. Covered a lot of ground to nullify NorthEast’s threat down his side, making four interceptions and as many clearances to put in a solid defensive effort.

Pritam Kotal – 7.0

Kotal was very disciplined to recover from the Bengaluru FC nightmare. Reacted smartly to avert danger, making five interceptions and three clearances.

Tiri – 7.0

Extremely proactive to combat NorthEast’s attacks, making nine clearances and seven interceptions. Kept a nice defensive line but Shereef’s shot went through him in the back of the nets.

Subhashish Bose – 6.0

Completely lost mark of Suhair to allow the early opener for NorthEast United. Made up with a nice assist for Boumous’ goal, reacting smartly to Northeast’s errors. Bit topsy-turvy with his defending.

Carl McHugh – 6.5

McHugh brought in a sense of calm in ATKMB’s midfield. Helped shield his backline well and made crunching challenges to help his side control the game.

Deepak Tangri – 7.0

The youngster looked more stable with McHugh beside him. Very sharp in midfield, covering more ground than any other midfield. Made three tackles and as many interceptions as well as creating some nice chances.

Manvir Singh – 4.0

Missed a sitter from a few yards out in the 12th minute. Horribly fluffed three big goalscoring chances in the second half from yards out. Got himself in some promising areas, but his final product was ineffective once again.

Hugo Boumous – 9.0

Boumous looked much more unhinged under a new coach. Gave ATKMB the lead with a sweet finish after fooling the defender. He played a smart one-two with Kauko for his impressive second goal. Nonchalantly ran the show, creating seven chances and embarrassing NorthEast’s defenders.

Liston Colaco – 7.0

Full of menace under the new system. Tormented Lakra with his menacing forward runs and scored a smart looping header for the equalizer. Became the joint-highest scoring Indian player in the ISL this season, but could’ve increased his tally if his finishing was better.

Roy Krishna – 5.5

Krishna got his fourth assist of the season by picking out Liston brilliantly for his header. But the striker played too deep, always looking to set-up chances for teammate than firing on his own. Tried a few shots on goal from awkward areas that were off-target.

Substitutes

Joni Kauko – 7.0

Gave a proactive substitute outing, cleverly picking out Boumous for his second.

Michael Soosairaj – 6.0

Made some exciting runs but unable to create anything prominent.

David Williams – N/A

Created some nice counter-attacking chances early on that weren’t converted.

Lenny Rodrigues – N/A

Struck a thunderous piledriver over late in the game.
