The Juggernauts delivered one of their best attacking performances of the season against the Islanders.

Odisha FC are back to winning ways as they beat table toppers Mumbai City 4-2 in a thrilling encounter. The Juggernauts took the lead inside the first five minutes through Aridai Cabrera. However, their lead didn’t last long as Mumbai City equalized soon after, thanks to a brilliant goal from outside the box by Ahmed Jahouh. Mumbai then went on to take the lead through a header from Igor Angulo after a Jahouh free-kick.

In the second half,  the Juggernauts came fighting back as they equalized through Jerry Mawihmingthanga. He wasn’t done though, as he scored another to take the lead for Odisha FC. Substitute Jonathas de Jesus scored in the 89th minutes to kill the game off and secure the much-needed three points.

On that note let’s take a look at Khel Now’s player ratings from the game.

Odisha FC (By Dibyajyoti Das)

Kamaljit Singh- 6.5

Despite conceding two goals, the goalkeeper was able to make five saves.

Hendry Antonay- 6.5

Was a mixed display by the right-back. Looked solid when he came up against Bipin Singh, but didn’t provide much going forward.

Hector Rodas-  6.0

Did well to keep the Mumbai threat quiet for most of the match.  The centre-back managed to win four duels.

Victor Mongil- 5.5

Was subbed off in the first half. The defender didn’t make a single tackle in that period.

Sahil Panwar- 6.5

A much improved performance compared to his last outing. Sahil had a 100% success rate in his tackles.

Jerry Mawihmingthanga- 9.5

The game-changer in the second half for the Juggernauts. He scored two, while providing the assist for Odisha’s fourth goal.

Thoiba Singh- 6.0

Not the most impactful of performers. Of his 18 successful passes, 12 came in his own half.

Isaac Vamalsawma- 6.0

Another midfielder who failed to be a dominant presence in the middle. Completed 18 passes and was subbed off in the 53rd minute.

Nandhakumar Sekar- 7.5

Another solid outing. Always found himself with space on the wings and provided the assist for Odisha’s equalizer.

Aridai Cabrera- 7.0

Had a really lively start to the match, as he managed to score inside the first five minutes. However, his performance fizzled out as the match went on.

Javi Hernandez- 7.5

Another solid performance from the Spaniard. Javi completed two crosses and two long balls. He also managed to get an assist to his name.

Substitutions

Paul Ramfangzauva- 6.0

The midfielder managed to complete only eight passes after coming on in the 54th minute

Liridon Krasniqi- 7.0

Was much better than Odisha’s other midfielder, as he always looked in control with the ball at his feet. Krasniqi attempted  two dribbles and was successful in both.

Jonathas de Jesus- 8.0

Talk about an impactful substitution. The Brazilian came on in the second half, setup Odisha’s third goal and then finished the game off by scoring the fourth.

Lalruatthara- 6.5

Lalruatthara came on in the 64th minute and completed seven passes with a passing accuracy of 78%

Daniel Lalhlimpuia- N/A

Came on in the 90th minute and didn’t have any impact on the game.

Mumbai City FC (By Riddhiman Sarkar)

Mohammad Nawaz- 6.5

Spilled Aridai’s shot weirdly and conceded Mumbai’s first. Could do nothing about any of the other goals, with no saves throughout the match.

Amey Ranawade- 6.5

Alert and vigilant in his duties as full-back, as he won two out of three ground duels. Made his best contribution of the night with a heroic last-minute block to deny Nandhakumar.

Rahul Bheke- 6.0

Was present in attack and defence, but could do nothing about either of Odisha’s goals. Won his only aerial duel and made five clearances.

Mourtada Fall- 5.5

Looked sluggish as he made the first mistake of the evening, leading to Aridai’s opener. Left Jonathas with all the time and space in the world to smash in Odisha’s fourth of the night. Not such a dominant display from the captain, as he won only one of his ground duels and lost possession nine times.

Vignesh Dakshinamurthy- 6.5

Dominant return to action for the Indian left-back, as he commanded the left flank, defending magnificently and contributing to attack with smart flicks and passes. Came off for Mandar Rao Dessai in the 63rd minute, with a ground duel win rate of 50% and pass completion rate of 92%.

Apuia Ralte- 6.5

Sweeping tackles from the young midfielder were a common scene as he compensated for Jahouh joining the attack. Tried to keep Mumbai safe from counter-attacks by winning all of his aerial duels (2) and four of his eight ground duels.

[KH_ADWORDS type="1" align="center"][/KH_ADWORDS]

Ahmed Jahouh- 8.0

The midfield maestro hit a menacing curler from outside the box after getting the ball rolled into his path by Cassinho. Floated the ball in towards Angulo with laser-guided precision for Mumbai’s second. Completed the game with a decent 94 touches and 87% pass completion rate.

Raynier Fernandes- 6.0

Almost found the back of the net with a well-placed shot but it was turned out. His misplaced header was another chance for Mumbai as he slipped up and couldn't keep it on target. Came off in the 79th minute with 39 touches on the ball.

Cassinho- 6.5

The Brazilian followed up his goal-bound header with a brilliantly worked assist for Jahouh. Kept trying to generate chances for Mumbai with his 91% passing accuracy and 100% dribble completion rate, but was taken off in the 80th minute for Brad Inman.

Bipin Singh- 8.0

Looked instrumental as he poked in a sweet ball towards Angulo and Raynier in the first half but it found neither of them. Became a little fazed as time passed, as he finished the game with 40 touches on the ball.

Igor Angulo- 7.0

Great link-up plays all over as he kept teaming up with all attackers and generated his first legitimate shot on target from Vignesh’s swiveling cross.

Scored Mumbai’s second with a well-cushioned header from Jahouh’s set-piece delivery. Came off for Ygor Catatau in the 62nd minute with two shots on target.

Substitutes

Ygor Catatau- 6.0

Almost made an immediate impact as his goal got disallowed by the linesman. Visibly frustrated as he shortly went on to be booked for his foul on Rodas. Hit the woodwork once and won five out of six of his aerial battles.

Mandar Rao Dessai- 5.5

Made his first error of the night after coming on as he allowed Jerry to ghost in behind him and score the equalizer for Odisha. Was at fault once again, as he allowed Jerry to blast in his second of the night in spectacular fashion.

Gurkirat Singh- N/A

Too little involvement after coming on as he lost his only ground duel and aerial duel of the night.

Brad Inman- N/A

Not very impactful as he managed to get only 6 touches on the ball.
