Greg Stewart scored a first half hat-trick after Peter Hartley's third miniute opener.
Jamshedpur FC returned to winning ways in style with a 4-0 victory over Odisha FC. The Men of Steel, who entered this clash, on the back of a heavy defeat to defending champions Mumbai City, made a perfect start against Kiko Ramirez's men. Captain Peter Hartley scored the first within the opening three minutes from a set-piece, before Greg Stewart killed the game with a first half hat-trick.
Stewart scored a minute after the opener, then added a second 17 minutes later with a gorgeous free-kick, before completing his hat-trick in the 35th minute. He had also assisted Hartley's goal. After a disastrous first half, Odisha FC showed some composure in the second, but hardly came close to finding the net. In contrast, Jamshedpur should have added a few more. However, forward Neirjus Valskis missed two glaring chances to add to Odisha's humiliation.
Odisha FC coach Kiko Ramirez appeared upset as he spoke at the post-match press conference. Here are the excerpts from the conversation:
Too easy for Jamshedpur
Odisha FC conceded two goals within the opening five minutes and went four down just after the half hour mark. Ramirez reflected on the game and said his side made everything easy for the opponents on the night.
“Everybody could see, it was so easy for Jamshedpur. The first half, the four goals, really easy for them," said the Odisha FC boss.

On team selection
Kiko Ramirez claimed full responsibility for the defeat. but insisted there was nothing wrong with his team selection.
“We weren’t mistaken about the team that we selected. Of course, we as the staff make the first mistake for the match," admitted the Spanish tactician. "In the match against NorthEast United we started like today. We weren’t focused, but we didn’t concede any goals.
"However, today we weren’t prepared in the 10-15 minutes and we conceded two goals in the first five. I accept all the responsibility of the defeat.”
Message at half-time
After going 4-0 down at half-time, Odisha came out a better side in the second half. They still gave away chances and were lucky not to concede any more goals. The Juggernauts also failed to create a proper goalscoring chance for themselves in the match.
“We told the players to start 0-0 in the second half," revealed Kiko, when asked about his half-time talk. "Try to stay head up. We didn’t concede any goals in the second half. Now, we start preparing for the next match. It’s football, we can win or lose.”

Positives from match
It's never easy to take positives from a match where the opponents had 19 shots at your goal and breached it on four occasions, without a reply. However, Kiko Ramirez looked ahead and whatever little good his side did against Jamshedpur, they will want to build on it.
“Good thing in football is that we can compete next week. We are going to prepare. We are going to try to add to what good things we made today and compete 100% in the next match." He ended by apologizing to Odisha FC fans for the horrendous result.
