JFC were outstanding right from kick-off, asserts Owen Coyle

Greg Stewart delivered one of the finest performance in the league so far, and the JFC head coach lauded his efforts.

Jamshedpur FC got back to winning ways in the Indian Super League (ISL) 2021-22 season on Tuesday, with a triumph against high-flying Odisha FC. Owen Coyle's men defeated the Juggernauts 4-0 courtesy of a hat-trick and an assist from talisman Greg Stewart. Odisha FC were behind the Men of Steel in every aspect of the game. Happy with the performance, Jamshedpur FC head coach Owen Coyle met with the media to discuss the match and his players' performance in the post-match press conference.

Assessment of the game

The former Bolton Wanderers manager enjoyed attacking brand of football his team played and was proud to talk about killing the game in first half itself.

"We deserved to be 4-0 up because of the quality of the goalsand the chances we had, we were outstanding from the first whistle, played with the intensity, the finishing was clinical and that's what we need to do while moving forward. If we are as clinical as tonight we'll be in good state," Owen Coyle said.

Greg Stewart's adaptability

On being asked whether he expected Hero of the Match Greg Stewart to adapt to the league this early, the tactician asserted, "I knew that, that's why I brought him to the club, if you look at my interviews before the season started, I've been telling what impact he'll have with Jamshedpur not because of his goals but the quality of his play. He's a team player and has been an instrumental addition to our plans."

Komal Thatal's and Boris's development

The two fiery wingers are getting better with time as the boss has been telling since start of the season. When asked about them, Owen Coyle proudly replied, "Yeah I'm delighted (with their improvement), I love these young boys and feels excited when they do well because they've a career of 10-15 years ahead of them. I love my wingers and love to play attacking football and young lads help me to do that."

Other positives

The coach felt that Jamshedpur FC had a complete game and there were some noticeable positives other than Greg Stewart. First clean sheet, dominating defensive display and enegetic shift from youngsters being some to name.

The boss was happy to take three points and signed off with the hope that Alex Lima doesn't have any serious injury as he is important to his plans.
