The All India Football Federation (AIFF) Disciplinary Committee has charged SC East Bengal player Antonio Perosevic with 'violent conduct against referee' following his red card incident in Match 32 of 2021-22 Indian Super League (ISL) against NorthEast United FC, played on Friday, December 17 at the PJN Stadium in Fatorda.
The charge notice issued by the Committee states Perosevic was 'expelled for using excessive force against referee'. Perosevic has been reported violating Article 48.1.2 of the AIFF Disciplinary Code. Perosevic faces 'sanctions for serious infringement punishable by an expulsion undertaken against Match Officials', according to Article 50 of the Code.

The player has been provided time till December 23 to submit a reply, defending his actions.
Antonio Perosevic will remain ineligible for selection as he serves an automatic one-match ban in SC East Bengal's next game against Hyderabad FC on December 23.
Red Card Incident
The incident occurred in the second minute of injury time when the Croatian shoved the referee for calling a foul. With SC East Bengal down by two goals and heading towards a fourth defeat, Perosevic looked a frustated figure. He fouled Khassa Camara on the edge of the centre circle when tussling for the ball. The referee, who was close by, immediately blew his whistle and gave a free-kick to NorthEast United. Agitated by the call, Perosevic had a little face-off with the referee and pushed him. He was immediately given marching orders and is now set to miss SC East Bengal's next game.

SC East Bengal in ISL 2021-22
The Red and Golds have chanced coaches and brought in a completely new team, but have failed to alter their fortunes. Manolo Diaz's side are the only team in ISL 2021-22 yet to win a game. They have played seven games so far, drawn three and lost four. SC East Bengal started their campaign with a 1-1 draw against Jamshedpur FC. But have since lost the Kolkata Derby against ATK Mohun Bagan and have also faced defeats against Odisha, FC Goa and NorthEast United.
