The Yellow Army are now unbeaten in four matches in this season.
SC East Bengal’s search for their first win in the ongoing Indian Super League (ISL) 2021-22 season continues as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Kerala Blasters at the Tilak Maidan Stadium in Vasco, Goa on Sunday. Tomislav Mrcela (37’) opened his account in the ISL by scoring with a header before Alvaro Vazquez (44’) equalised with a well taken shot just before halftime.
The contest ended without any goals in the second half and the points were shared between the two sides. Let's take a look at the Player Ratings from the match:
SC East Bengal (by Rajdeep Saha)
Shankar Roy- 6.0
The third-choice goalkeeper received his first start of the season. Roy had a good outing and almost got his clean sheet. Apart from the unlucky deflection, he had one important save in the second half, and punched the ball away twice.
Raju Gaikwad- 6.0
The defender was persistent with his long throw balls which bore a fruit with Mrcela’s header. However, his incapability to clear the ball resulted in Kerala’s equalizer. He was effective in his aerial duels (winning three out of four), and had five clearances to his name. He earned himself an assist on the night.
Tomislav Mrcela- 7.0
The centre-back was important in clearing the ball away from the goal in corners. He scored SCEB’s only goal with a deft header. The Australian was unlucky as a deflection off his head scored Kerala’s first. Apart from this aberration, he was solid defensively with seven clearances and three tackles.
Franjo Prce- 6.5
Mrcela’s partner in the defense, Prce, got a good performance under his belt tonight. His impressive numbers included two blocked shots and three vital interceptions.
Hira Mondal- 5.5
His passing, as always, was below par. He attempted 10 long balls, out of which only one found its intended target. At the back, he made some scathing tackles and cleared the ball a total of five times.

L. Hnamte- 5.0
He was on the team sheet for the third time this season. He couldn’t make any impact from the midfield and had zero crosses in the final third. Defensively, he was average as he could only win four out of 11 attempted ground duels.
Sourav Das- 6.0
He perhaps was the best out of the midfield players for SC East Bengal, against Kerala Blasters. He had a passing accuracy of 75% and won six out of eight of his duels.
Amarjit Singh- 5.5
The midfielder was played on the right channel. He wasn’t on his best in terms of passing (67% accuracy), and couldn’t win any of his duels. Singh committed two fouls, one of which cost him a yellow card.
Semboi Haokip- 5.0
The striker was given the responsibility of leading the line, but couldn’t live up to it. He received a yellow card for a rash tackle in the first half, and had zero shots in the game.
Antonio Perosevic- 6.5
The Croatian had a lively start to the first half. The forward almost found the back of the net, and had three shots on target.
Daniel Chima- 5.5
The forward couldn’t get his name on the scoresheet tonight. He was good in applying some pressure on the opposition defenders, but couldn’t have much impact.
Substitutes
W. Angousana- N/A
He was on the pitch for the last 20 minutes or so. Angousana didn’t have impact except winning most of his duels in the middle of the park (three out of four).
Amir Dervisevic- 6.0
The Slovenian tried to make things work, and had a brilliant accuracy of 80% in passing. He had a bullet of a shot which was blocked by a Kerala defender.
Naorem Singh- N/A
The Kerala Blasters' loanee, playing for SC East Bengal came on quite late into the game and didn’t make an impact.
Bikash Jairu- N/A
The wide midfielder, too, couldn’t contribute to the proceedings of the game.

Kerala Blasters (by Hari Thoyakkat)
Prabhsukhan Singh Gill- 7.5
An impressive outing on his first start for the club. Made a few brilliant saves and kept Kerala Blasters in the game throughout the game.
Sandeep Singh- 6.5
Will clearly take some time to fill the shoes of the injured Harmanjot Khabra. Regardless, a good start as this was his first match of the season.
Marko Leskovic- 7.0
Another good performance from the Croatian. Made six clearances and an interception. Won all the duels that he engaged in and completed 66 passes with an impressive accuracy of 87%.
Enes Sipovic- 6.5
A subdued outing from the former Chennaiyin FC man. Poor defending on the occasion of SCEB's goal. Had to be substituted during the first half due to an injury.

Jessel Carneiro- 7.0
Contributed brilliantly to KBFC's goal of the night. Impressive performance on the left side of the pitch, especially during attacks.
Prasanth Karuthadathkuni- 6.0
The goal-scorer from the last game against Odisha FC couldn't follow that performance up with another one on Sunday night. Completed all 16 of his passes but that remains the only bright spot from his performance against SCEB.
Jeakson Singh- 7.0
A good game from the former FIFA U-17 World Cupper. Maintained a passing accuracy of 86% throughout the game. Also made some good chances with accurate long-balls.
Lalthathanga Khawlhring- 7.5
'Puitea' as he is known, the midfielder is getting better with each match. Linked up well with Alvaro Vazquez and Adrian Luna and played plenty of forward balls to assist in attack.
Sahal Abdul Samad- 6.5
Not the best of performances from him, but he was not bad either. Must improve passing. Drew as many as three fouls.
Adrian Luna- 7.0
Kerala Blasters' trump card was not as effective as in his previous games, because SC East Bengal players knew the danger he posed and worked accordingly. Still, he returned to the dressing room as one of KBFC's best performers of the night.
Alvaro Vazquez- 7.5
Scored the goal that helped the Yellow Army take a point. Scored another one too, but it was ruled out the referee.

Substitutes
Abdul Hakku Nediyodeth- 7.0
Did well as Sipovic's replacement. Made an important clearance in the second half.
Chencho Gyeltshen- 7.0
His pace through the left-wing helped Kerala Blasters attack SC East Bengal well on the counter. Should be clinical inside the box, could've scored one today. But instead, he chose to pass it to Puitea and the latter shot wide.
Nishu Kumar- 6.0
Ineffective at the right-back position as Sandeep Singh's replacement.
Jorge Pereyra Diaz- 6.5
Scored once, but the goal was ruled out due to a foul. Apart from that shot, he didn't make much of an impact.
Vincy Barretto- 6.5
His pace gave KBFC's attacks some life in the second half.
